St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse Review!

Hey Everyone!

I've been using St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse since the summer and totally didn't realize that I haven't posted a review on it. Hands down this is my favourite self tanner I've come across! If you're pale like me and love using self tanners or just like having a sun kissed glow all year round, this review is for you!

This bronzing mousse is made without Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates, Triclosan. The mousse is quite light, with a very pleasant fragrance and SO easy to apply and dries fairly quickly (60 seconds approximately). I have to say the scent was one of the main things that sold me on this self tanner. It smells sweet and kind of floraly. For those that have found the Sun Labs self tanner's smell to be a bit odd, you might really enjoy this one!

To begin with, I always exfoliate the skin and wait a bit after I've had a shower for my skin to dry a bit and apply a little bit of moisturizer to my elbows, knees and ankles and let it sink in then apply the self tanner with my self tanning mitt. It dries fast so I make sure to rub it in quickly. It has some colour to it so it's easy to apply which is great. I don't have to wait long at all until I can put clothes back on either. It is recommended that you wait at least 6-8 hours before showering because if you get any water on your new tan, there will be a water mark left behind which will require a touch up. I speak from experience lol.

You can also apply a gradual tanning moisturizer to places like your face, feet and hands as applying self tanner to these spots will be a sure sign that you have self tanner on and the moisturizer will make the self tanner look more blended and natural. I would also suggest to be weary of applying this self tanner to your face since it made my face red and burn a bit when I applied it the first time. I think this self tanner is suited more as a body self tanner, just use a gradual tanning moisturizer on your face and you're set!

This is the result after two applications! Just right :)

The end result is very natural looking and where there may be spots that you may have goofed on, they are barely noticeable. The tan lasts about a week as long as you maintain it by moisturizing. I would recommend this self tanner for someone who really hates the smell of DHA and enjoys a fruity smell or doesn't have a lot of time and wants something to slap on quickly and go then this self tanner is worth trying out! I suggest you buy the tanning application mitt with it as I find the mitt allows me to rub in the tanner perfectly unlike latex gloves and my hands aren't sweating in them either. All in all, this is the best self tanner I've ever used!

Here you can see the texture of the mousse - very light!

  • Sweet, pleasant smell
  • Very quick drying
  • Natural looking tan
  • Streaks or poorly rubbed in areas aren't that noticeable
  • Beware of applying this to your face as it did burn mine a bit
