Stila Living the Life in Laguna Travel Palette & Makeup Look!

Hi Guys!

You may remember last year I had reviewed my first Stila Travel Palette and loved it! Well, here's the newest addition to my collection: Stila's Living the Life in Laguna Travel Palette! On a recent trip to Winners, I was so excited to see this palette and find out if I would enjoy it like the Fabulous in Fiji Travel Palette from last year!

With this palette, I liked that it didn't come with a convertible cream colour because those things can get a bit messy when it's beside eye shadows. The palette itself is nice and small and easily can be used for travel. It came out last year in the Summer and has been available most recently at Winners.

The palette includes four eyeshadows:

Sand Dollar: Peachy pink shade
Sunset: Coppery bronze shade
Cove: Medium Mauve shade
Bonfire: Chocolate brown shade

One Cheek Color:

Seashell: Cool pink

One Highlighter:

Pacific Coast Highway: Light peach

Price: $9.99 at Winners

This is definitely a warmer palette and all the colours applied very smoothly and pigmented. The colours when combined look pinkish purple and really brought out the colour of my eyes when I put them on. Sand Dollar and Sunset are my favourite colours from the eyeshadow quad because they were a dream to work with and the colours are absolutely gorgeous! The cheek colour Seashell was a bit chalky when I applied it to my cheeks. It was kind of confusing because the colours didn't really stand out as a blush or a highlighter but I used Seashell on the cheeks and Pacific Coast Highway as a bronzer anyways. I would recommend those with fair skin to wear these as they are VERY light colours and will not show up on darker skin. When I applied them, neither of the colours really stood out to me but if I want to add a light flush to my cheeks, I may use Seashell again.

L-R: Sand Dollar, Sunset, Cove, Bonfire

L-R: Pacific Coast Highway, Seashell

This is a great palette to wear for the Summer and if you're a fan of Stila's Travel Palette's, this one is definitely worth finding! I wanted to show you guys how the colours look all together so I decided to do a look using all of the colours in the palette!

The suggested way of applying them didn't really make sense to me so I went with my own version. First I applied NYX's Iced Mocha Jumbo Eye Pencil to my lid as a base and topped it with Sand Dollar and just above the crease and used MAC's Shroom eyeshadow to my brow bone. Then I added Sunset to the outer half of the eye for an added pop of bronzey colour and with a fluffy blending brush I applied Cove to the crease and a bit towards the brow bone and finished the look with Bonfire which was used to define the crease a bit more. A swipe of liquid liner and a couple coats of mascara finished this look!

If you get a little creative with applying the colours, unlike the directions listed, the colours can work together nicely! Since I gave the eyes a smokey effect I went with a peachy nude lip by using Revlon's Creamsicle Lip Butter and a dash of Visanti's Baltic Lip Shine. Overall I really like how the colours ended up looking on my eyes but I wasn't a big fan of the really light cheek colours as they barely showed up on my skin. But, I may use them when I'm paler in the Winter!
