theBalm Nude ‘Tude Eyeshadow Palette Review!

Makeup Review, Review, The Balm

Hi Glitter Babes!

I’ve mentioned on my Twitter that I was on a makeup ban for a bit but that was recently lifted when I went out to buy theBalm’s Nude ‘Tude Palette. I knew when I was going to start buying makeup again that I was definitely going to buy something from theBalm and this palette was the first purchase I had in mind!

Here are some details on the palette from theBalm’s website:

“These amazing palettes consist of 12 beautiful shadows that make wearing nudes fun! These satiny smooth colours can be applied naturally “i.e. let me slip into something more comfortable” or beautifully layered. The wide range of naked neutrals gives you light highlighters as well as brazen bold shades that work to add definition and emphasis. Nude ‘Tude allows you to dramatically dress up your eyes (if nothing else)!”

The palette also comes with a double ended brush for applying liner or shadow. The 12 eyeshadows are:

Sassy: Frosted white shade
Stubborn: Frosted medium peach shade
Selfish: Frosted taupe shade
Sophisticated: Dark bronzey brown shade
Sexy: Matte burgundy shade
Serious: Matte medium black shade
Snobby: Medium goldish-yellow shade
Stand-Offish: Frosted medium bronze shade
Sultry: Satin medium brown shade
Schitzo: Golden bronzey-brown shade
Silly: Reddish-brown with copper flecks shade
Sleek: Matte blackish-brown shade

Price: $35 CAD at PharmaPlus and other stores

It was only natural for me to compare it to Urban Decay’s Naked palette but none of the colours are similar. At 0.032 oz the size of the eyeshadows are smaller compared to Naked but offer a variety of neutral shades rather than mainly bronzey/warm colours. Nude ‘Tude is cheaper, however, so this would be a great option for someone who has considered buying Naked but doesn’t want to pay that kind of price. The palette comes in a durable lightweight cardboard case which is great because it won’t get dirty like the felt packaging with Naked. The brush included with the palette isn’t practical for me since it’s small and a bit scratchy to use.

If these swatches don’t convince you of how awesome this palette is then I don’t know what will! I had so much fun taking swatch photos of these shades. They really danced in the light!

Every eyeshadow gives you AMAZING colour payoff and richness and apply buttery smooth. Silly was a bit difficult to swatch because of the glitter in it but is still a gorgeous colour to work with! My favourite colours are the ones on the left side of the palette. They glisten and shimmer on the eyes so beautifully and I know these will be heavily used this Summer! I really like that with this palette you aren’t limited to only a range of certain colours or makeup looks to do. I’ve been able to create really soft looks as well as smokey looks which would make this palette perfect for someone who prefers options. This palette is absolutely gorgeous and, in my opinion, a must have.. I’m so glad I have it!

Do you own theBalm’s Nude ‘Tude Nude Eyeshadow Palette? Thoughts?!
