Golden Eyes: James Bond Inspired Makeup Look

Hey Guys!

The new James Bond flick, Skyfall will be coming out in theatres this Friday and to celebrate, I decided to put together a fun look inspired by the movie franchise! I'm super excited about seeing Skyfall and have always been a huge James Bond fan. Are any of you guys going to see it?! They're saying it's supposed to be one of the best James Bond movies ever made so I can't wait to check it out!

For my inspired makeup look, I went with 'Golden Eye' as my starting point and decided to do glittery gold eyes and a pretty pinkish-nude lip with a pop of gold. First, I applied Benefit's RSVP creaseless cream eyeshadow over the brow bone and crease and ever-so-lightly on the top part of the lids as a base. Then I applied Make Up For Ever Gold Aqua Cream to my lids with my fingers and worked it in quickly as it does set pretty fast. To set the gold and add even more colour, I put Naked Cosmetics' yellowish-gold pigment on top and worked the colour into a light wash into the crease and on the brow bone. Then I took Make Up For Ever Gold metal powder and worked it into the crease to deepen it some more and then blended both of them together. After applying some glitter glue to the lids, I applied Make Up For Ever gold glitter onto the lids for the perfect golden eyed look! I keep scotch tape handy as I usually end up with lots of glitter on my cheeks every time I do this and the tape helps to get rid of it all. Black eyeliner and dramatic false lashes completed the eyes.

With the rest of the face, I wanted to be consistent with using products with golden tones. A peachy pink blush was applied to the apples of the cheeks, rose gold highlighted the tops of the cheekbones and a golden bronzer was added to the cheekbones, temples and forehead. I lined my lips with a pinkish-brown lip liner and topped it off with some pinkish-nude lipstick and for an extra dash of fun and gold, I applied a bit of Make Up For Ever's Gold metal powder to the middle of my bottom lip. James Bond always has some interesting looking characters in every movie so I really wanted make this a fun, exaggerated look to go with the theme :)

I love wearing glitter these days, especially since it's more acceptable to wear at this time of year. This is also a great idea for a holiday party makeup look! Nothing says the holidays better than wearing glitter and sparkles ;)

Holiday parties are soon coming up and I'm already getting invitations! It's time to start thinking about dresses and hair and makeup! I like planning everything in advanced so I'm not flustered when the days roll around. One of my favourite things to do is buying the outfits! This year, I'm going all out glam and buying a couple new party dresses! It sucks to think about the snow, sludge and below freezing temperatures that are bound to show up sooner or later, and already has in some parts of Toronto, but holiday parties are what helps get that yucky stuff off my mind and focus on the fun that's about to transpire ;)

Do you guys plan your holiday looks in advance or a couple days before or the night of?! Any ideas on what makeup looks you want to wear?

Hugs, Kisses & Glitter,

Kelly
