Quo Pretty Fierce Fall 2012 Collection Product Review + Swatches

Hi Glitter Babes!

Quo Cosmetics has always been a company I've been fond of but haven't really purchased a lot of. I absolutely love their brushes and think they are very good quality and budget friendly. I found a really good deal on some of the items from their Fall 2012 Pretty Fierce Collection and decided that this was the time to finally buy some more of their makeup! I was particularly drawn to the awesome snake skin packaging as well as the quantity of makeup you get in each palette. I picked up Second Skin Blush Palette and Untamed Eye & Cheek Palette.

Untamed is a mix of 6 smokey shades, along with a multi-coloured peachy-pink blush. This palette offers pretty much everything you would need for a variety of smokey eye looks. If you didn't get the chance to pick up the bronzey palette, like me, this is quite similar with what it has. You get a pretty big square mirror with it so it would be easy to use the mirror while working with the colours instead of using something separate.

L-R: Coral-Pink shade, Both mixed together, Light Pink shade

The blush in this palette is pretty and the colours can be applied separately or all together, which is nice. I was very disappointed in the eyeshadows though. It took numerous swipes of each shade to get enough pigment as well as to give you guys decent swatches. The cobalt blue shade was especially disappointing because I could barely get the colour that you see in the pan to show up on my skin. You will most definitely need to use an eyeshadow base to get any kind of colour pay off. The dark brown colour was the easiest to show up, pigmentation wise. The lighter shades were nothing to brag about and looked too similar to each other.

Second Skin Blush Palette contains two gorgeous blushes - a peachy-coral and a deeper orangey-peach. It's nice that these two shades will be able to compliment more than one type of skin tone. The blush on the right side, however, is more suited for someone with a deeper skin tone as it will look a little harsh on lighter skin. The finish of both of them is satiny smooth with a hint of shimmer. The blendability of both of them is quite flawless. These shades are perfect for fall warm peach shades that can be worn well into winter because they have a deeper tone to them.

I'm kinda bummed that I was too late to pick up the Smokey Eye Palette from the collection as it looked a lot like their take on the Naked Palette and I can't help myself with neutrals and bronzey eyeshadow palettes :-P Obviously, Second Skin was the stand out item out of the two (although you can't really compare them anyways). I will be using those blushes for sure and probably the blush in the beauty palette. I'm not sure how the other eye & cheek palettes compare to this one, so if any of you guys have had a more pleasant experience with any of the other ones, please let me know! I've used their eye shadows before and have had better experiences so I'm not sure what went wrong here. I was really looking forward to possibly using Untamed for a couple holiday looks but I have to look on the bright side of things, at least the blushes will be used! :-P

Have you picked anything up from this collection? If so, thoughts?!

Hugs, Kisses & Glitter,
