LORAC Unzipped Palette Review, Swatches

Hi Guys!

It seems that everywhere I look, almost every makeup brand has their own neutral eyeshadow palette. It may seem a little silly but I absolutely love collecting them! I know that with each palette there's going to be something a little different and more unique. Whether it's the formula, colour or variety, these are the things I love finding out for myself. You haven't seen much LORAC being posted on my blog and that's why for Christmas, I asked for some of their stuff. One item that I found tucked under my Christmas tree was LORAC's Unzipped Palette!

Price: $52 CAD at Sephora

Unzipped is all about sexy nude shades to compliment all skin tones for a highly pigmented and very wearable look for either day or night. A mix of 10 matte and shimmer neutral eyeshadows are included as well as a mini Behind The Scenes Eye Primer to ensure you get a long lasting look. Some say it's even better than the Naked Palette, which is what made me so eager to try it out!

The eyeshadows included are:

Undercover: Matte cream beige
Unbelievable: Shimmer light rose gold
Unattainable: Shimmer pinkish taupe
Unconditional: Matte medium taupe
Unbridled: Matte dark pinkish brown
Undiscovered: Shimmer light yellow gold
Unreal: Shimmer light beige pink
Uncensored: Shimmer medium golden brown
Unspoken: Matte medium golden pinkish brown
Untamed: Shimmer dark purplish brown

This palette is mainly cool toned with some neutral shades, so if you liked the Naked 2 Palette more than the original, this palette will be right up your alley! There is some fall out but when I do smokey eyes, I do my foundation after I'm done so the fall out isn't an issue. The eyeshadows feel so creamy and apply smoothly with great pigmentation.

L-R: Undercover, Unbelievable, Unattainable, Unconditional, Unbridled

L-R: Undiscovered, Unreal, Uncensored, Unspoken, Untamed

It's nice to get a good mix of matte and shimmer shades which makes this palette very wearable for all age groups. I love wearing 'Unbelievable' because it gives a hot looking rose gold shine to my lids and 'Untamed' applies like a gorgeous deep brownish purple that's perfect to wear for a night out. The eyeshadows last great on their own (about 6 hours) and the Behind The Scenes primer helps extend that to a full day of wear. Either way I like how long these colours shine and their great pigmentation.

I'm thinking of using this palette with Naked 2 to see what kind of looks I can come up with since these palettes are both cooler toned. The size of it is smaller and lighter than Naked 2 and the size of each shade is bigger but it doesn't come with a brush like the latter does. The price tag is comparable to Naked 2 so it basically depends on what colours you prefer or what your specific needs are for a neutral cool toned palette.

If you would like to see a blog post on a complete comparison review on Unzipped and the Naked 2 palette, please leave me a comment or tweet me @glitterdiaries!

Have you tried out LORAC's Unzipped Palette? If so, how do you think it compares to Urban Decay's Naked 2 Palette?

Hugs, Kisses & Glitter,

Kelly
