Slowly our own Target stores have been opening up across Ontario and I was finally able to check out one of the new stores that just opened this past week in Burlington! I was ready for a good haul and that’s exactly what the end result of my trip was!
I was sure to arrive as early as I could in case the crowds were crazy but was surprised to find that it wasn’t. The store smelled and looked brand new and there were Target associates everywhere asking everyone if they needed any assistance. I was able to ask a girl stocking the shelves how she felt about working there so far and she said she was loving it and looked like she truly meant it! The first section I browsed was the women’s apparel and, let me tell you, the clothes are so nice! Mossimo was the main brand that I couldn’t take my eyes off of. Printed pants, shorts, bright coloured tops and beautiful spring dresses were all around and though I knew that on my next shopping trip that was the next spot I would do the most damage in, it was still hard to pull myself away from all of it. The prices on their clothes are obviously more expensive than Wal-Mart but similar, I think, to Zeller’s prices so in this case, you really are getting what you pay for. I also really loved their selection (albeit a bit small) of trendy shoes. The aisles were nicely lit and organized, and there were great displays everywhere. The check out aisles are also great because you can do a self check out if you want to avoid the line ups!
Another section I will definitely be leaving my mark in next time is their accessories section. I was blown away by all of the fabulous neon bags and clutches, as well as the jewelry. I did end up buying one mint green necklace and I plan on buying some of their adorable charm and wrap bracelets!
Now onto the good stuff… the makeup section! PIXI was there in a small section as well as a decent section of Sonia Kashuk, where I ended up buying a pair of lovely glamorous lashes. I saw that they were selling some great brush cup holders and will probably buy a couple next time.
NYX was where I scored big time! which I had to stock up on all of the Jumbo Eye Pencils they had that I’ve never seen elsewhere. I had to pick up their medium eyebrow marker because I have an obsession with brow products and don’t have an eyebrow pen in my collection. I saw that they were carrying all of the usual regular lipsticks I’ve seen carried at Rexall but noticed that they were selling some of their matte lipsticks so I bought the brightest, cheeriest shades they had 😛 For years, I’ve had a thing for roll-on eyeshadows and have always kept one I bought from Maybelline, that was sold eons ago, in my purse, so I bought two of their soft neutrals to try out and I hope I love them! Lastly I picked up a couple neutral waterproof lip liners because who doesn’t need more waterproof lip liners in their collection, especially twist up ones?!
So basically that was my shopping trip! I felt like a kid in a candy store in there and can’t wait for the full release of stock to come out this weekend! It will definitely be hard for me to refrain myself from going back then. What about you?
Have you been to any of the new Target Canada stores? What were your experiences like?!
