The Blogger Made Me Buy It Tag!

Alright guys! Are you ready for another tag post?! I found this one to be really interesting and a great way for you guys to find out what influences us beauty bloggers to buy what we buy.

Who are your most influential bloggers? I would have to say that Temptalia is my #1 go-to for finding out about new products and whether they’re worth buying or not. I also like knowing what my fellow blogging friends have to say like Tracy at Beauty Reflections, Julie at Swatch and Review and Janine at BeautyGeeks.

Who are the ones you rely on for reviews and swatches? Temptalia is amazing for detailed reviews and great swatches, as well as Jessica at Beautezine. Either of them will give me drool-worthy pics and sell me on products!

Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review of your favorite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others? I like reading reviews on the brand’s website or even on Sephora‘s site to find out what the everyday consumer thinks of the product I’ve been eyeing. I have to know if it’s a widely loved product or just hyped about by one person in order to make a decision.

What is your most favorite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs? Oh geeze.. I think all of us bloggers look to each other to find out what’s worth looking into and what isn’t. I used to spend money freely in the beginning, which led to me outgrowing every makeup drawer that I have, but now I’m a bit more choosy when it comes to adding to my collection. My Naked palettes are one of my favourite items I’ve ever bought due to all of the rave reviews I read on blogs.

What is your least favorite product that you’ve ever bought as a consequence of blogs? This is VERY few and far between because I trust the opinions of the bloggers I get recommendations from and they are 99% correct in their reviews. When I first started reading beauty blogs back in 2007/2008, I made random purchases of things based on what I saw online that didn’t end up really thrilling me in real life.

Name five products that you have recently bought as a result of blogs? Well, I normally end up buying anything essence cosmetics related even if I see someone blog about it online or not. Everything else that I’ve bought lately has just been random things I wanted to try out.

Have you ever given into any blogger hype? If so, which hype? The UD Naked palettes had huge hype behind them from day one and I freely gave into it and love them and rave about those palettes because they are as amazing as everyone says they are. I also agree with all the hype behind It Cosmetics. I absolutely cannot live without my Naturally Pretty Essentials palette because it is basically a one-stop shop for putting a complete face together.

Have you ever avoided any blogger hype? If so, which hype? I have missed out on a lot of awesome sounding MAC collections because I just didn’t have the money to buy any of it (and renew my PRO card). That’s one of the issues with being a blogger; you’ve got to decide for yourself what you realistically can and cannot afford.

Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items that you buy without checking a review? Not necessarily because if I’ve already had a great rapport with the brand’s products overall, then I’ll most likely buy whatever new thing they come out with based on my experiences in the past with them. This would be true with Real Techniques brushes for sure!

I’d like to tag EVERYONE on this as it’s not only something I’d love to hear from other bloggers but also my readers as well. Where do you get the most influence from to buy the makeup and beauty products you buy? Have you ever been let down by a review or bought a product that ended up being one of your all-time favourite purchases? Please leave your thoughts below and complete the tag, then share it with me!
