Sorry guys, I was supposed to post this yesterday but it was quite a hectic day as we put in an offer on a house and after many hours of back and forth, I’m happy to say that.. we got it!! These next few days are going to be crazy, but I’m happy to move onto the next chapter as this has been a LONG time coming. And onto even more great news, I’d like to talk about OPI’s new Infinite Shine Nail Lacquer!
OPI Infinite Shine is a three-step process that comes in 30 iconic shades and promises colour that requires no touch-ups for at least 10 days and intense, gel-like shine that rivals professional salon-quality results. Along with the Primer base coat and Gloss top coat, I tested out Steel Waters Run Deep, a medium grey with a creme finish, Never Give Up, a dark brown tinted eggplant, and Endurance Race To The Finish is a bright medium orange.
Price: $14.95 / Available at Professional Salons
I hate that most of my nail polish applying adventures end with usually a chip or two by the end of the first day, so hearing about this new line of polishes had me very excited. The Primer was a breeze to put on with just one coat for each nail and I let it dry (which it did pretty quickly) before selecting a colour to wear. Never Give Up was the first one I tested out because it looked like such a gorgeous dark red-brown-purple hybrid. Two coats were applied and each one went on with smooth fluidity without any streaks I waited a bit for the polish to set in before applying a coat of the Gloss top coat and then I let them dry. Let’s just say that Never Give Up never gave up on delivering impeccable shine and long lasting results. I found it REALLY tough to make the switch to the other polish colours because it performed so well, even since I am really brutal at times with my hands. I didn’t get any chips until the 5th day when there was some slight chipping going on at the tips of my nails. The same went for Steel Waters Run Deep which applied with the same ease which resulted in an ultra-smooth, full creamy opaque finish. The formula for Endurance Race To The Finish I felt was a little different in the way that it went on a little bit thicker compared to the other two so the application took a little longer and the drying time was a bit longer as well. There was slight streakyness but with the Gloss top coat, it’s barely visible unless you look at it up close.
Overall, I’m supremely impressed by their endurance to withstand the daily computer typing and other activities I put my hands through and LOVE the glossy shine that I have never seen with any of my other polishes or top coats. My nails really look like they were done professionally which is nice since I never get to do that often!
