I used to live near Square One shopping mall and on the way to Sephora, I’d always walk by Kiehl’s and be tempted to want to stop in and buy something, but Sephora and the products they had there always left me just window shopping Kiehl’s product line and not taking the plunge to finally buy something. Then when I moved further away, I kind of forgot about Kiehl’s but kept hearing so many great things about their products that it really made me wish I had bought something when the store was so close to me. So, to my great surprise, I received a big box of Kiehl’s products to discover and I really couldn’t be happier.
The PR box came with, literally, all of the Kiehl’s best selling products that they’re known for. This included their Ultra Facial Cream, Midnight Recovery Concentrate, Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, Creme de Corps, and the Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Mask..
The Ultra Facial Cream ($63 / 50 ml / Available at Kiehls.ca & Kiehl’s stores) helps reduce moisture loss in the skin while drawing in and absorbing moisture from the air. The cream gives your skin continuous moisture throughout the day, leaving it feeling smooth, soft and looking healthy. Some of the ingredients it contains include Antarcticine (Glacial Glycoprotein Extract) (that’s sourced from Antarctica) that protects the skin against dryness and helps hydrate while giving your skin a noticeably smoother appearance as it shields it from free radicals, Imperata Cylindrica (Desert Plant Extract) helps store and retain moisture, even in the driest weather conditions, and Squalane (Perhydrosqualene or perhydrosqualene vegetal) restores the skin’s natural moisture balance to keep it very soft and supple.
The Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado ($39 CAD / 14 g / Available at Kiehls.ca & Kiehl’s stores) is a nourishing formula that moisturizes the delicate eye area with ingredients like avocado oil, a rich, fatty acid emollient that restores the natural moisture in skin, beta-carotene, a natural derived antioxidant found in carrots and contains vitamin A, and shea butter which protects skin from dehydration, improves its appearance and restores its suppleness.
The Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque ($36 / 125 ml / Available at Kiehls.ca & Kiehl’s stores) is intended to soften your skin as well as purify and minimize the appearance of your pores. It’s formulated with Amazonian White Clay that draws out oil, dirt and toxins that clog pores, Bentonite which is a colloidal aluminum silicate clay that absorbs oil and reduces shine, and oatmeal and aloe vera that help soothe the skin.

Probably the most highly anticipated product out of the bunch for me was the Midnight Recovery Concentrate ($57 / 30 ml / Available at Kiehls.ca & Kiehl’s stores), which is very well known for repairing, regenerating and replenishing the skin overnight to make it look smoother and healthier. It works with your skin’s natural nocturnal state to dramatically restore it. It contains Evening Primrose that repairs your skin barrier and enhances radiance, Lavender Essential Oil which soothes inflamed or irritated skin and blotchiness and improves unevenness to give you a brighter and more radiant complexion, and Squalane restores the skin’s natural moisture balance to make it very soft and supple.
Creme de Corps ($41 / 250 ml / Available at Kiehls.ca & Kiehl’s stores) is a hydrating, rich, and non-greasy body moisturizer that is enriched with skin-nurturing ingredients that leave the skin feeling soft, smooth and beautifully moisturized. It contains beta-carotene which contains vitamin A, cocoa butter which softens and lubricates skin, and sesame oil, a refined moisturizing oil that absorbs easily while softening the skin.

My Glittery Thoughts:
What an amazing way to get to know a brand than to try all of their best sellers! I found out why these products are best sellers pretty much immediately and it kind of really sucks that it’s taken this long to finally try their products. Now I really know what the fuss is all about. The Midnight Recover Concentrate is my absolute favourite out of all of the products. I feel like it really adds that moisture and plumpness to my skin that I need when I wake up. The facial cream and eye treatment are both very rich and hydrating. The eye treatment especially is very thick so you only really need a tiny dab or else it takes a long time to absorb into your skin. I really like having a pump bottle for the moisturizer, so I can get what I need. Since it’s getting colder outside, I’m starting to get dry patches everywhere and the moisturizer immediately soothes and restores those areas. I don’t have any major issues with my pores but sometimes I get really annoyed by the black heads and white heads that I find. I felt like the masque was very refreshing and comfortable to wear and when I took it off, my skin still felt refreshed and my pores looked cleaner.
After trying all of these products, what do I recommend? There is something really nice about all of these products. If you get really dry under eyes, you’ll really like the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado because it’s really thick, the Ultra Facial Cream I feel will work on pretty much all skin types. It’s a bit thick but not heavy and sinks into the skin really nicely to give you refreshing hydration. The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a great investment if you want to add something anti-aging that also helps with evening out your skin tone. You look more refreshed in the morning after a night of wearing it, which I really enjoy. The body moisturizer and the masque are nice but I don’t use them as much as I do with the other products, so I would say to test those out in the store and find out if they are what you’re looking for. But overall, I really enjoyed all of the products and liked that they worked really well on my dry skin. I’m officially a Kiehl’s fan!
What do you think of these Kiehl’s products? Please let me know if you have any other Kiehl’s favourites that you think I should try!
