For the past year, oval brushes have been making the rounds and have become quite popular. I bought my first oval brush set last year and really like how easy they make applying makeup, so when I received the new Avon Oval Makeup Brush Set, I was extremely excited to see if I would love them just as much.
What makes oval brushes so popular is that they come with ergonomic handles making it easier to apply your foundation, as well as denser, more close-set bristles so your makeup applies more evenly and you use less of it. Avon‘s new Oval Makeup Brush Set offers exactly that with its set of three synthetic brushes that give you everything you need to complete a full face of makeup. It includes a Big Oval Brush, which works for applying foundation, blush, bronzing and setting powders, a Linear Brush, which works for applying concealer, eyeshadow, brow setting powders as well as setting your makeup around the creases around your nose and eyes, and a Small Circle Brush, which works for applying lipstick and eyeshadow, as well as applying concealer under your eyes and in the inner eye corners. For cleaning, all you need to do is wash them with a mild soapy water and they’ll be ready for the next round of beautification.

I love oval brushes because of their density and how you can get a pretty smooth application out of pretty much every brush. First things first, I love the Big Oval Brush! It’s easy to maneuver around your face for a full coverage, smooth look with your foundations and powders. I really like the Small Circle Brush for applying eyeshadow into my crease and cleaning up the outer edges of my eyeshadow with concealer. The Linear Brush was a little more difficult to use for multiple purposes but I do like it for contouring my nose and adding brow powder to my eyebrows. The brushes themselves are flexible but durable and easy to move and bend around without feeling like you’re going to break them and feel really soft and luxurious. The only downside with this set is that it’s a bit limiting. I would’ve liked to see a smaller version of the Big Oval Brush in there (and several others for that matter) as well because it would be perfect for applying concealer because the Small Circle Brush felt like it was poking my under eye area and it would be best to use something more flat so it easily glides around and feels comfortable. The price of this set is a little steep considering you only get three brushes, but seeing as oval brushes are usually, on average, a little more expensive than regular brushes, you might be interested in this set, especially if you’re a loyal Avon fan. I really hope they expand on their oval brushes and offer them for a good deal!
