Slay the Valentine's Day Game: Pink Glitter Makeup Tutorial

Hey Glitter Babes!

I’m SO excited to share that I’m BACK on YouTube again! Last year, I started getting the bug to make my return to YT and have been planning and preparing ever since and the day has finally arrived! I went ahead and changed all of my old videos to private because, aside from being really old, they don’t represent who I am and what I want my channel to be. But, I will soon be filling up my videos list with tons of fun and educational videos on makeup and all things beauty.

So for my first order of YouTube business, I’ve created a pink glittery and glam makeup tutorial. It features a fierce cut crease, extreme winged liner, tons of highlighter, and a glossy red lip. If you want to make a statement this V-Day and impress the socks off that special person in your life, then this is the look to go for!

Speckled Valentine’s Day Makeup Tutorial

Speckled Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial

Look who’s back with another makeup tutorial! January was a pretty unmotivating month for me. I had all of these ideas but no clue on where to start. It’s usually the holidays that really light that spark and get me going, so I’ve decided to create a couple makeup tutorials for Valentine’s Day! The holiday isn’t a big deal to me in and of itself, but a girl like me can’t resist the desire it brings me to pull out all of my pinks and reds and create something fun. Which is how I got the idea to come up with the Speckled Valentine’s Day Makeup Tutorial.

Speckled Valentine's Day Makeup Tutorial

As a makeup artist who constantly wants to grow her skills and challenge herself, I’m never satisfied with creating something basic. I am not a neutral makeup kind of girl. Yes, you may see the odd neutral makeup look on here, but I’m a girl who loves playing with colour and different techniques and that is what I mainly strive to show you guys on this blog. Online I’ve been seeing a lot of cute and interesting colour usage techniques being used in the crease which sparked the idea to add a speckled effect of pinks and whites on top of my crease shadow. For this look, I used a lot of the products in the Colourpop x Hello Kitty collection because I LOVE it, as well as some of my new SUVA Beauty Hydra liners. This look was pretty easy to put together, so let me share with you how I did it!

Speckled Valentine’s Day Makeup Tutorial

  1. Apply a pale beige eyeshadow base to your lids and up to your brow bone.
  2. Add a light peachy pink shadow to your crease and up to your brow bone.
  3. With a thin pointed brush, add a bright pink to define your crease.
  4. Apply a shimmery light bronze with a flat brush to your lids.
  5. With a bright pink and white liner, create dots along your brow bone from outer to inner corner and alternate the colours.
  6. Apply your foundation and concealer, then with the bright pink colour, use a pointed brush to apply it underneath your lower lashes.
  7. Line your lash line with red liquid liner and wing it out, then your water line with a beige liner.
  8. Put on some long, fluttery lashes and apply mascara to blend your lashes with the fake ones.
  9. Apply a bright pink blush to your cheeks as well as a soft bronzer to your cheeks and along your temples and forehead, then add a pink opalescent highlighter to the tops of your cheeks and to you brow highlight.
  10. Using a vibrant matte fuchsia lipstick, apply it to your lips and with your ring finger, apply the pink opalescent highlighter shade to the middle of your bottom lip and your cupid’s bow.

Modern Victorian New Year’s Eve Makeup Tutorial

Modern Victorian New Year's Eve Makeup Tutorial

What was once old is now new again. One of the big fall/winter 2016 makeup trends is definitely a blast from the past. Think Marie Antoinette, grand elegance, big updo’s and even bigger dresses. The ‘Victorian’ trend when it comes to beauty has made a comeback but in a more modern way. Earlier this month, I was given a challenge by essence cosmetics to come up with a Victorian inspired makeup look. I decided to accept that challenge but also make it more timely for the holidays by creating a Modern Victorian New Year’s Eve Makeup Tutorial!

Modern Victorian New Year's Eve Makeup Tutorial

Victorian makeup is pretty simplistic: neutral eyes, matte skin and pink lips. I wanted to enhance that by adding a lovely cat eye, some light shimmer to the skin and a gorgeous pink ombre lip that nods to the classic era but looks very modern as well. I used pretty much only essence products for this look which makes it even better because it’s very affordable to replicate and in perfect time to wear for New Year’s Eve.

Modern Victorian New Year’s Eve Makeup Tutorial

  1. Start by applying a light beige base to your eyes.
  2. Sweep a light taupe shadow to your crease and brow bone.
  3. Pat a light cream peach shadow to your lids.
  4. Line your lids and extend out in a cat eye with liquid liner.
  5. Add some white shimmer shadow to your tear ducts with your ring finger.
  6. Apply black mascara to your bottom and top lashes and a lengthening top coat.
  7. Add a soft pink blush to your cheeks and a warm bronze to contour.
  8. Softly pat some of the white shimmer shadow to the tops of your cheeks.
  9. Line your top lip with red liner and smooth on a berry red lipstick then smoosh your lips together.
  10. Line the bottom lip with a cream beige liner then blend with a finger.
