My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

If you’re not following me on social media, you probably missed the announcement I made about my pregnancy. It is part of the reason why I haven’t been as active in blogging and doing videos as I had intended to be. It has taken a lot of energy and motivation out of me which took me out of posting reviews, makeup tutorials and pretty pictures but the time off helped me find my love for it again and slowly but surely, I want to get back to a regular posting routine on the blog and social media.

Being pregnant can take a lot of motivation out of you. I don’t doll myself up as much as I’d like to and I know it needs to become a priority. I received a package of girl’s night treats from Farleyco that are perfect for a night of pampering with the girls or if you’re pregnant and have forgotten to put your needs first.

My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

Eco Tools Facial Mask Mates / $10.99 CAD: A girl’s night always starts with a good face mask. I really don’t like getting that mask gunk on my hands, so this Mask Mates set of sponges and a handy brush are the perfect mates for applying a luxurious mask without having to wash your hands a billion times. It comes with a mask applicator brush and 3 mask remover sponges. The brush is made of bamboo and is cruelty-free, plus the bristles are super soft and the flat edge can easily apply anything from creams to gels to clay with even coverage, without the mess. The sponges are reusable and made of plant pulp, which helps to effectively remove masks while also gently exfoliating your skin.

My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

BeautyLash Brow Tint Kit / $19.99 CAD: When you have non-existent brows, you will do pretty much anything to get some that actually show up. I’ve tried dying my brows with hair dye but have never tried brow tinting before. This product also tints your lashes which I’m a bit more hesitant about doing. It’s a quick 2-step process that lasts up to 6 weeks and is smudge and water resistant. One box is reusable for up to 8 applications which is also amazing. The shades come in Light Brown, Medium Brown, Dark Brown and Black. I’m dying my hair soon now that I’m in the second trimester and it’s much safer at this point for me to do it, so I’m very excited to try this kit out!

My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

Modèle Collagen Lip Treatment (Plump) / $29.99: I don’t have the money to spend on lip injections and wouldn’t do that at this point in time anyways, so lip plumpers are always a fun thing to try out. This one helps restore volume to your lips, reduce the signs of aging and retain moisture. You can use it alone or underneath lipstick and should be applying at least 3 times a day for a minimum of 30 days to see results. When I first put it on, I immediately noticed that my lips were NOT tingling like most plumpers do. This is a very subtle plumper that feels more like a nice lip balm, so if you’re sensitive to that tingly/stinging feeling but want something that helps make your lips look a little more fuller, this is a great option.

My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

7th Heaven Charcoal Mud Face Masque / $1.99 CAD: I love doing a double mask on nights when I really want to pamper myself. I’ll start with a cream mask and then put on one that I can peel off. My skin feels more squeaky clean and refreshed when I do the double mask combo. 7th Heaven masks are a treat because they’re easy to apply and can target certain problem areas and make my skin feel really good afterwards. This 2 in 1 mask contains purifying natural charcoal and exfoliating walnut shell that work as a tag team to help detoxify your skin. The charcoal also helps absorb oil and impurities. I hate having clogged pores and love how effective charcoal is at helping keep them clean.

My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

MesmorEyes #406 Kit for Almond Eye Shapes / $12.99 CAD: Lashes are always something that make me feel prettier. I feel like I can wear lashes with minimal makeup and still feel good about myself. They’re also an essential to any girl’s night when you take your party from the comfort of your home to dinner or somewhere else to let a bit loose with the girls. This kit comes in different styles depending on your eye shape which is very helpful because most lashes come in a one size fits all style. The kit not only comes in a style perfect for almond eyes which works for me, but also those with monolids, round, and hooded eyes. the lashes in these kits are hand picked to suit those eye shapes and are hand knotted and feathered from 100% sterilized human hair, with comfort band technology so even someone who doesn’t wear lashes that often will feel comfortable in them. I love this kit because of the variety of looks I can get out of these lashes, plus they’re very easy to apply and wear.

My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

Purple Tree Coconut Miracle Balm / 25 ml / $6.99 CAD: Pregnancy has given me really dry and parched skin, so a good multi-use balm is a must have. This balm uses natural, organic coconut oil which help protect and provide relief from dry, cracked skin on your lips and anywhere else on your body. It’s a multi=use balm that can protect brittle nails and cuticles, tame unruly brows, and when applied to your lashes, can give them a longer more luscious look. It not only comes in yummy coconut but also aloe vera, pomegranate, and shea butter. I love multi-use products because I can use it anywhere to treat my dry skin. Even though the tube is somewhat small, the balm itself is thick and a little goes a long way.

The Best Beauty Products of 2016

The Best Beauty Products of 2016

Ah, the time of year has come when every beauty blogger posts about their favourite products of the year. It is always so difficult to make up my mind on my favourite products of the year because I find myself falling in love with so many. So writing up a post on the best beauty products of 2016 was a difficult task but I decided to put all of my fave products together in one post so it’s much easier to read and gives you all of the goods at once!

The Best Beauty Products of 2016

Before I begin, some categories contain a couple products. Those categories were too tough to decide on just one and I just had to share two really stand out items.

The Best Beauty Products of 2016

Best Skincare – NeoStrata Glycolic Renewal Smoothing Lotion (reviewed here) & Shiseido Ibuki Quick Fix Mist: This year, I started actively using a glycolic lotion and I’ve been LOVING it. It’s another way to get rid of uneven-ness and wrinkles. NeoStrata Glycolic Renewal Smoothing Lotion is amazingly effective and efficient, while being gentle enough to handle. On the other end of the spectrum is Shiseido’s Ibuki Quick Fix Mist which is a lovely product that I use for extra hydration and to seal my makeup. It smells WONDERFUL too!

Best Foundation – Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation: OH JEEZ this was a tough category to decide on. This year, I was introduced to a couple long lasting foundations that are all beyond amazing but I think the top foundation of the year goes to Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Foundation. It stays on NO MATTER WHAT and makes your skin still look like skin. Now I know why it’s so widely recognised as one of the best foundations out there.

Best Concealer – Kat Von D Lock It Concealer (reviewed here): By far this is the best concealer I’ve tried in like ever. It stays in places but is easy to blend out once applied. It comes in so many shades, even a white one if you need to customise your colour which is awesome. If you’re looking for a long wearing concealer, this is it!

Best Eyeshadow Palette – COVERGIRL trunaked Roses Palette (reviewed here): This is another very tough category because I do fall in love with a lot of eyeshadows as well as eyeshadow palettes but I decided to focus on a palette this year. I wanted to give the top honours to The CG Roses palette because I’m always using it. I love rosy shadows with beautiful shimmer and this palette is also great for travel.

Best Mascara – COVERGIRL The Super Sizer Fibers Mascara: Another COVERGIRL goodie has graced my 2016 faves post. I’m VERY picky about mascara and know what I like. I like a mascara that is not too wet or too dry and doesn’t make my lashes clump. This mascara is so bomb because it’s got everything I look for in a mascara: amazing length, lift and volume.

Best Lipstick – Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick (reviewed here) & bh cosmetics liquid lipstick (reviewed here): Both the Too Faced Melted Matte lipsticks and the bh cosmetics liquid lipsticks are power houses when it comes to providing vivid, matte colour and a long lasting finish. I love both because they offer a variety of shades but at different price points.

Best Blush – Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush Palette Color Wheel: There have been a lot of amazing blushes that have come out this year and I always love the ones that come in sets. I love having options and that’s what I get with the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush Palette Color Wheel. Not only does it contain a lot of beautiful blushes but it also has a highlighter and some colours I’ve been using as a contour/bronzer.

Best Highlighter – BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone (reviewed here): I’ve been using my BECCA highlighters like it’s nobody’s business and since I picked this liquid luminizer up not long ago, I’ve been loving it ever since. Obviously, BECCA knows how to do highlighters and illuminators right. Moonstone gives a beautiful glow that even unicorns would be jealous of and I love that I can mix the formula with foundation or moisturiser for a nice pick-me-up.

Best Contour – Hard Candy Highlight & Contour Face Duo Stick: This duo stick is a great multi-purpose item because I also use the highlight end to conceal things. However, the contour side is amazing because it’s the perfect size to go along the sides of my nose, along my jawline, forehead, etc. without looking obvious. It’s really creamy and and easy to blend out. It’s one of the amazing products Hard Candy has come out with this year!

Best Bronzer – Arbonne Sheer Glow Highlight Stick in Bronze (reviewed here): I really have been enjoying this bronzer because the formula is really nice and it gives a beautiful warmth to my skin. It also reminds me of the NARS Multiple sticks but way cheaper, which is another reason why I love it.

Best Nail Polish – OPI Hello Kitty Nail Lacquer (reviewed here) & Sally Hansen Color Therapy (reviewed here): For obvious reasons, I had to mention the Hello Kitty collection that OPI came out with because I love anything HK related and the colours and glitters are gorgeous. Another new polish collection I’ve really been loving is the Sally Hansen Color Therapy line. I’ve always loved Sally Hansen polishes because they are great quality, however this line takes it a step further with the nail treatments and care that goes into every polish. Plus, I really love the shade range!

Best Fragrance – Avon Luck La Vie EDP (reviewed here): I’m not much of a really feminine perfume lover but Luck La Vie changed my mind about that. It settles beautifully onto my skin and my hubby always compliments me on it. Plus, I think the bottle is so glam and gorgeous. It’s one of the fragrance bottles I have on display on my vanity.

Here’s to a new year with many more new products for myself and all of you to drool over (but not literally)!

Lust List | March 2016

March 2016 Lust ListHey Glitter Babes!

I can’t believe we’re already heading into March! Where did the time go? I feel like I’ve been accomplishing more in my dreams than when I’m awake. Do you ever feel like that? I’ve got a lot of house work to do and plans that I need to get started on in March. February has just been one of those months where I’ve been feeling so unmotivated but I know my motivation starts to build up once spring hits. So, with that I need to share what’s been on my lust list as of late.. since it’s been so long!

March 2016 Lust ListMy March 2016 Lust List

  1. Fabulous Accent Pillows: I’ve been feeling like my house looks a little “blah” lately and the overall look of the house is starting to get to me. Pretty pillows always make things look a little more lively and interesting, so I found these adorable pillows from Icing that would definitely take the look of my house up a notch.
  2. Ikea Kallax Shelving: I really want more organizational units in our house as well as more decor pieces and I already have a smaller Kallax unit in my beauty room. I love the look of it and would love to add one of these to our living room because I can create nice displays of photos, books, and other stuff in each section.
  3. Stila Cosmetics Aqua Glow Serum Foundation: I saw the beautiful Courtney from La Belle Sirene wearing this foundation at a recent event and loved how her skin looked and I’ve also been getting a craving for a new foundation, so I think this one might be it! If you’ve tried, definitely let me know what you think of it also 🙂
  4. Glass Display Box: I love home decor that really adds something special to a room. I would use this glass box for displaying some of my nicer jewelry pieces. But it can be used to display or store anything which makes it a must have for me.
  5. Benefit Cosmetics Dew the Hoola Matte Liquid Bronzer: Springtime is when I go into self tanning mode and the new Dew the Hoola liquid bronzer from Benefit Cosmetics is calling my name! I’m already a fan of the powder bronzer and this liquid bronzer is matte as well, which makes me even more excited to try it out.
  6. The Estée Edit by Estée Lauder: I haven’t really delved into Estée Lauder makeup in the past but I cannot deny that they’re really kicking it up lately and that can evidently be seen in their new Estée Edit line, which is targeted towards the younger makeup-wearing crowd. Take for instance their cute packaging with this lipstick which is one of their Lip Flip Shade Transformer’s that brightens up any of your lipsticks and can be mixed to customize your own shade.
  7. NAILSINC Paint Can Polishes: Anything that makes painting your nails really easy always catches my attention and that was the case for me with NAILSINC’s new nail polish that comes in paint cans! It sounds like an incredible (and easy) idea!
  8. Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick Kits: I’m one of those girls that has a love-hate relationship with the Kardashians. But I can’t deny that I love Kylie Jenner’s makeup and the desire to get my hands on one (or all) of her lip kits just keeps getting stronger. This one is Candy K which is a soft, warm nude.
