Lancôme Matte Shakers Review

After the success of the Juicy ShakersLancôme shook things up a bit more with the launch of the new Matte Shakers. Our love for matte lipsticks isn’t dying anytime soon and the Matte Shakers are taking it to the next level.

Lancôme Matte Shakers Review

Lancôme’s new Matte Shakers are a collection of 7 highly pigmented matte liquid lipsticks that deliver major colour payoff and have a lightweight, second-skin feel that leaves that you can wear comfortably throughout the day and it won’t dry out your lips. It has a water-in-oil emulsion that’s made of Vitamin E  and a patented Ultra Thin Film technology to give you weightless texture without losing the highly pigmented colour. Like the other shakers, the applicator has a pillow-like cushion applicator that allows for maximum absorption of the formula to give you precise application and buildable colour that dries without smudging or transferring.

Lancôme Matte Shakers Review

From L-R: Kiss Me Cherie – deep blue-toned red, Pink Power – magenta pink, Yummy Pink – cool fuchsia pink

My Glittery Thoughts:

These are the lightest matte lipsticks I’ve ever worn! It feels like you’re not wearing anything. They feel like a stain when you apply them but the colour is so intense, it’s crazy. After eating and drinking, some slight colour comes off at the corners of my lips but the colour is still there underneath. It fades gracefully and leaves a nice stain on your lips. I’m absolutely in LOVE with these colours! The red has a nice blue tone to it and the pinks are really fun and EASY to wear. They don’t smudge and make it really easy for me to wear a bold lip to work. These are definitely worth buying if you’re looking for bright shades in a lightweight formula that won’t make you feel self conscious about it bleeding, smudging or fading awkwardly.

Complexion Perfection with Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundations!

Lancome, Review
Complexion Perfection with Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundations!

When the weather starts to turn around and get a bit warmer, I always reach for foundations that are long wearing and give me a flawless finish. I was introduced to Lancome‘s Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Stick late last year and loved how long lasting the results were and when the opportunity came to try out the rest of the foundations from the Teint Idole Ultra line, I couldn’t be more anxious and excited!

Complexion Perfection with Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundations! It all started with Lancome’s Teint Idole Ultra 24H has raised the stakes for 20 years with its ultra long wearing formula. With the anniversary of its 20th year, it got a bit of a face lift with a name upgrade, Teint Idole Ultra Wear, and a chic, new bottle, as well as an expanded range that offers up to 40 shades! It offers high coverage that contains broad spectrum SPF 15 and gives a blendable, radiant, velvety finish that doesn’t look streaky or cakey.

My Glittery Thoughts:

I got to test out 140 Ivoire (N), a neutral shade for fair to light skin, and it has quickly become one of my absolute favourite foundations to wear. When swatched beside the cushion foundation, it looks a bit warmer and on my skin the warmth is very slight and just gives my skin a nice, healthy glow. It’s high coverage but doesn’t make me look like I have an obvious layer of foundation on because it feels and actually looks lightweight. I was impressed to find that it didn’t enhance any dry patches and the longevity is pretty amazing and will last from morning to night with barely any touch ups required.

Being a huge trend in Korea and now having landed in North America over the past year, cushion foundation has become a hit around the world. Lancome decided to recently launch Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation. Not only is it high coverage and contains a whopping SPF 50, but it also contains Polar Cushion Technology that gives you a precise application and longer hold. It comes nestled in a classic compact case but you won’t need to retouch your makeup with this one. The foundation gives your skin a luminous, vibrant glow and the cushion is refillable in the compact when you run out. It comes in 26 shades for a fresh, flawless and quick application.

My Thoughts:

As my first forray into cushion foundations, I knew it was going to be fun wearing this foundation. I love the compact case and how sleek it looks and the cushion foundation was easy to pop into place. The compact itself comes with a round, flat sponge which I prefer not to use because it would get dirty pretty quickly. I dab into the cushion foundation with a beauty blender or my fingers and smooth it on. It feels extremely lightweight but gives incredible, buildable full coverage. The shade is a perfect match on me and I love that it contains SPF 50. There’s not a lot of product in it compared to the liquid foundation, but I like that a little goes a long way.

Complexion Perfection with Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundations! From L-R: Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Stick in 140 Ivoire (N) & 410 Bisque (W)

The Teint Idole Ultra line expanded last year with the launch of Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Stick. Not only does it offer 24-hour wear but a weightless, matte, high coverage finish that glides on seamlessly. It’s formulated with broad spectrum SPF 21 and contains porous polymers that absorb excess acne-producing oils to give your skin a matte, shine free appearance. It comes in 20 shades (soon to be 30) and is infused with ambora extract which helps reduce the appearance of redness and can be used as a concealer, contour or highlight stick as well.

Price: $53 / 0.31 oz / Available now at Sephora & Lancome counters

My Glittery Thoughts:

Last year I got to try out 140 Ivoire (N), the same shade as the Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation, and this year 410 Bisque (W) was added to the family. It has a warm, yellow undertone for medium to deep skin tones, and I’ve been using it as a contour stick. I’ve been loving using the 140 Ivoire as both and foundation and concealer. I like using it with the liquid foundation as well as the cushion foundation to conceal as well as carve out my brows and the 410 Bisque is added under my cheekbones and to my temples for a natural bronze and contour. They’re very easy to blend out and I love  its powder to cream texture that gives a long lasting but natural effect to my skin. It can feel a bit drying so I have to make sure my face is prepped with a good moisturizer before I apply either of them.

So if you’ve never tried any of the Teint Idole Ultra foundations, you’ve got lots of options in different formulas. By far, I think my favourite is the Teint Idole Ultra Wear foundation because it lives up to the name and praise behind it.

Lancôme Juicy Shakers Review

Lancôme Juicy Shakers Review

After hearing a lot of online praise about the Lancôme Juicy Shakers and the variety of bubbly, fun colours, I knew I wanted to get my hands on some of them. The Juicy Shakers have recently been expanded to offer 8 more new, vibrant shades with irresistible fragrances.

Lancôme Juicy Shakers

From L-R: 343 Top Gum & 281 Marshmattack

What makes the Juicy Shakers so popular is that they’re formulated with a bi-phase technology that combines a blend of 5 nourishing oils as well as pigment for a wash of colour that you emulsify by shaking up the cute bottles to blend everything together. The blend of oils include peach kernel oil, which helps to soften lips, apricot oil, which hydrates, sweet almond oil, which conditions your lips, muscat rose oil, which is rich in essential fatty acids and soothes your lips and cranberry oil, which provides rich antioxidant properties. This can all be applied with soft, cushion applicator which enhances application by delivering the perfect amount of shine and colour to your lips. The Juicy Shakers were developed by Lisa Eldridge (huge makeup goddess in my world) and the latest expansion was inspired by millennial friendly pastel colours from the fun and colourful gaming universe of the 90’s.

Lancôme Juicy Shakers Review

From L-R: 343 Top Gum & 281 Marshmattack

My Thoughts:

I’m a lip product addict and can’t go without something on my lips at all times. In the winter, I always have a couple lip balms on me so I was excited to see how these would measure up. The colours in the bottles made me really excited to see what kinds of colours they would produce seeing as they’re from the new launch, but they’re very subtle. Marshmattack has barely any colour when swatched or applied to the lips but it does add subtle glossy shimmer and Top Gum is a bit more punchy and gives my lips a nice, glossy, rosy tone. The main concern for me, however, was whether they would fully condition and hydrate my lips and I’m glad to report that they feel really good and make my lips look even better. I find it a lot of fun to shake up the bottles like a cocktail shaker and I LOVE the cushion applicator and how soft it is to use. They’re not sticky and they leave my lips feeling conditioned and soft for hours, plus, they smell so YUMMY! I’ve seen some other shades offer more pigmentation, which I’m intrigued to try out but overall I’m glad they take care of my lips through this rough season!
