mark. Pout Vinyl & Velvet Lip Paints Review

The mark. Pout Vinyl and Velvet Lip Paints are a 2-in-1 product that includes primer and vibrant, pure pigments. Feeling like something a bit glossy? Or do you prefer to wear mattes? There’s something in this collection for both preferences!

mark. Pout Vinyl & Velvet Lip Paints Review

The Pout Lip Paint’s are more intense than a lipstick and more saturated than a gloss. The Pout Vinyl Lip Paint‘s offer a high-shine finish while the Pout Velvet Lip Paint‘s have a matte finish. And let’s talk about colour; these paints come in four shades each that range from neutral to boldly delicious and all it takes it one slick of the wand to get full, opaque colour.

My Glittery Thoughts:

Avon and mark. have come out with some great lipsticks and lip products before but these ones felt like a step further into brighter, more unique shades. I love how they have two different sets so if you’re more of a gloss person, or if you like mattes, you won’t miss out. Both the vinyl and velvet are very easy to apply and one coat gives full-on colour. I like the pointed applicator which allows me to both line and fill in my lips. The velvet’s aren’t transfer-proof and might leave you with a little colour on your teeth after you apply it, so I just blot it (with the cute mark. napkins I got!) when I’m done and that fixes that issue. I LOVE the bold shades with Fantasy and the darker purple hues. Unfortunately there are only four available of each right now and I hope they will eventually expand on these because they are so much fun to wear. The size of them is a bit small but for $10 bucks a pop, I think it’s worth it be since you can really have fun with it and buy another when you run out.

Mark. Havana Sol Collection Review

I love trying out new makeup and beauty collections. I love it even more when the products remind me of the season, especially summer. I’m a girl who love, love, loves bright, fun colours, so when I meet a new makeup collection that offers that, I fall hard. Everything about the new mark. Havana Sol collection just screams summer vibes to me and I am all for it.

Mark. Havana Sol Collection ReviewCelebrate the energy and vibrancy of Havana with the Havana Sol colour and bath & body collection. The collection is made up of four bath and body products which include a body scrub, body mist, body wash and body butter. The bath and body products contain a blend of freshly cut papaya, deep Cuban orchid and warm velvet woods. The Body Wash ($12 / 236 ml) is a gentle formula that moisturizes and leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and refreshed. The Body Butter ($14 / 215 g) contains aloe, shea and cocoa butters as well as coconut oil. The formula is ultra rich and melts right into your skin while keeping it moisturized all day.

Mark. Havana Sol Collection ReviewIn Havana, colour is everywhere you look and the Havana Sol colour collection is inspired by all of those colours. The Cheek Magnet Hook Up Blush-Bronzer ($18 / 5.5 g) is made up of two buildable cheek colours that combine with a radiance-boosting bronzer which is all inspired by a beautiful beachy Havana sunset. The Eye Contact Hook Up Eyeshadow palette ($18 / 5 g) is a sight for sore eyes. The vibrant and bold palette contains nine must-have shades you can mix and match to create colourful and fun looks. They’re blendable, buildable and crease-proof for effortless application. They can be applied sheer or you can build on them to get even more of an intense colour payoff.

My Glittery Thoughts:

This palette is everything! I LOVE the greens and blues and how vibrant they are. I also really like the mix of matte and shimmery shades. This palette screams summer and is something I’m going to get a lot of use out of. The blush-bronzer is gorgeous too although I have to dab into the bronzer really lightly in order for the colour to not show up too dark on my skin since it is more suited for someone with tanned skin. The peach and pink shade in it are beautiful and when combined give a gorgeous summery coral glow to your cheeks. The tropical and fruity scent of the bath & body products is exactly what I enjoy wearing in the summer. I love applying the body butter after a shower to boost the scent and make it last longer on my skin. If you love colourful blues and green eyeshadows and tropical scented body products, you won’t want to miss out on this limited edition collection!

5 Travel-Friendly Makeup & Beauty Products from mark. & Avon

5 Travel-Friendly Makeup & Beauty Products from mark. & Avon

I’m sure a lot of you have your summer vacations planned by now or maybe you’ve got a good idea of where and when you want to go. Whether you’re going for a week long vacation or a long weekend vacation, you need to bring beauty products with you that are both functional and compact so they minimize your luggage load. I recently discovered 5 travel-friendly makeup & beauty products from mark. and Avon that have both of those qualities and will have you organized and looking amazing for your much anticipated trip.

5 Travel-Friendly Makeup & Beauty Products from mark. & AvonHook up your eyes with mark.’s new Eye Contact Hook Up Eyeshadow magnetic palette in Smoke & Mirrors ($18). It comes with nine shades that you can mix and match in a blendable, crease-proof formula. If you love smokier shimmery shades of green, purple and brown, this palette has it but you can also get lighter, day-appropriate eye looks with it too but there’s also a neutral eyeshadow palette available if that’s what you prefer. The palette is very travel friendly because it fits into the palm of your hand and it’s magnetic too so it won’t go anywhere when it’s connected side by side to another Eye Contact palette or mark.’s Cheek Magnet Hook Up Blush.

The Cheek Magnet Hook Up Blush ($18) comes in six sizzling shades that come in a mix of mattes and shimmers that give you a radiant flush that is also buildable. The shade I got to try out is Mauve Forward, a matte mauvy pink that would look good on everyone. It’s neutral enough to compliment a lot of eye looks and perfect for travelling because, like the Eye Contact palette, it fits into the palm of your hand and I like that it’s magnetic as well.

5 Travel-Friendly Makeup & Beauty Products from mark. & AvonFrom L-R: All Butter Now in Bare All & Cheek Magnet in Mauve Forward

I like bringing lip products with me that do more than just add colour to my lips and the All Butter Now Lip Treat‘s from mark. do exactly that. The lip treat’s help increase your lip moisture by 124% and contain shaea, cocoa and mango seed butters. They come in eight shades that range from sheer to full coverage that all deliver gorgeous colour with a buttery shine. I tried out Bare All which is a semi-sheer beige nude and a colour that will go with pretty much any makeup look because it’s not too light and is more of a natural nude. Being under the sun and in different climates can leave you with nasty, chapped lips and I really like that this does double duty and gives my lips the hydration they need on a regular basis.

5 Travel-Friendly Makeup & Beauty Products from mark. & AvonFrom L-R: Dusk Till Dawn Waterproof Eyeliner in Blackout & Daybreak

When you’re on vacation, you’re bound to have a day (or two) that goes on until the late hours of the night and that’s why having something waterproof with you is essential. The Dusk Till Dawn Waterproof Eyeliner‘s ($10)Β  from mark. last all day and glide on smoothely and precisely. They come in five shades and provide a velvety finish that’s also smudge-resistant. I got to try out their black and brown pencils called Blackout and Daybreak. They have a very creamy consistency when you first apply them which gives you a quick opportunity to play around with them, but when they dry you’ll need a good waterproof makeup remover and some elbow grease to remove every last bit. This is why bringing at least one waterproof eyeliner with you is a good idea because it will stand up against anything – a swim at the beach, a night of dancing and any and all emotions that come from being on a great trip.

I can’t forget to mention the products you downsize when you go on vacation, like sunscreen, body wash and lotions. Some of the smaller tubes can be really inconvenient and hard to work get product out of. That’s why Avon’s Be Inspired Travel Set ($19.99 / Avon.ca) is the perfect kit for your body care and sunscreen needs because it comes with tubes that are squeezable, so you can get every last ounce. The silicone tubes range with the capacity of holding 37 to 59 ml and are the easiest things I’ve used for creams because it isn’t a struggle to make sure you’re not wasting anything. They come with a clear zip up clear case which you can use to transport the tubes or you can use them to, of course, help you bring more makeup with you!
