Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Glossy Lip Oils

With the weather going from cold to warm and then back to cold again, I’m always in need of hydration, especially on my lips. I especially like wearing products that have a bit of colour to them so I can tackle both my need for colour and something to treat my dry, chapped lips all at once. The Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection‘s Glossy Lip Oils are a fun hybrid that offer both colourful shine and conditioning moisture.

Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Glossy Lip Oils

The Glossy Lip Oil’s are a new and innovative product for Mary Kay because they provide a comfortable application that’s non-sticky and gives your lips luminous shine. They’re infused with grape seed, avocado, and jojoba oils so they will quench your lips to the max with tons of moisture and they come in three shades.

I ♥ Mary Kay!
Top Row from L-R: Brilliant Violet – pale lilac, Sheer Pink – sheer pale pink
Bottom: Magenta Ray – rosy magenta pink

My Thoughts:

My lips feel really soft and conditioned when wearing these lip oils during and even after they’ve come off. They’re very lightweight, not sticky and feel really comfortable, plus they smell really nice. The applicator lets you squeeze out as much colour as you want and the tube will allow you to get to every last drop of it. The colours hold enough pigment without being too bold, so anyone would feel comfortable wearing them and Sheer Pink has just a hint of colour so that will make extreme colour-phobes happy. I love Brilliant Violet and Magenta Ray for their, obviously, beyond pretty colours, but I also enjoy wearing Sheer Pink as a bedtime treatment. So, all in all, I love this kind of lip treatment because of the colour I get with them and how they turn my lizard lips into soft, smooth, and non-flaky pillows.

Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Eye Color Palettes Review

Top Row from L-R: matte pale lavender, matte pale sky blue
Bottom Row from L-R: shimmery pearl white, shimmery cobalt blue
Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Eye Color Palettes ReviewSunlight Eye Color Palette
Top Row from L-R: matte light bubblegum pink, matte white
Bottom Row from L-R: shimmery pale beige, shimmery light peachy orange

My Thoughts:

The colour combinations in both palettes is gorgeous and exactly what I would wear anytime, but especially in the spring. The Glistening Horizon palette was a little disappointing because the matte pale lavender and blue shadows were quite sheer and difficult to work with. In order to get them to look vibrant, I have to apply a white base underneath and pat them on top with a stiff, flat brush. Aside from those shadows, everything else performed and showed up without any issues. I like the combination of matte and shimmering shades in both palettes and you can put them in and switch them out of any Mary Kay eyeshadow compact case or magnetic palette, which I like using to bring multiple colours and products with me in one palette. If you like fun, punchy colours that are a mix of mattes and shimmers, then you’ll enjoy these palettes!

Mary Kay Pure Dimensions Eye Palettes Review

Mary Kay Pure Dimensions Eye Palettes Review

I remember my mother buying Mary Kay products when I was young and I would every so often sneak over to her vanity and try out some of the products and hope she wouldn’t notice. Mary Kay has grown a lot since then with a lot of cool and modern products. As my own firsthand experience with the brand, I got to try out their new Pure Dimensions Eye Palettes.

Mary Kay Pure Dimensions Eye Palettes Review

The Pure Dimensions Eye Palettes are a luxurious collection of beautiful shades and intricate designs that are inspired by different travel destinations. The palettes contain innovative technology which allows each shade to deliver pure, true colour. The formula contains finely milled pigments that are silky smooth and very blendable. The colours are long lasting, range from matte to metallic shimmer, and look good on all skin tones.

My Thoughts:

These palettes are definitely not my mother’s eyeshadow palettes! I love how vivid and bold these shades are and how pretty the eyeshadows are designed. I was trying to find out which shades were matte but all of the colours have shimmer in them, which I have no problems with. There’s a little bit of fall out with some of the darker shadows but aside from that, all of the shadows apply really smooth and buttery and very pigmented. I found that Paris Starlight and Maui Gardens can’t be used for a complete eye look because the lightest shade, especially in Paris Starlight, is too dark, so you’ll need to integrate a highlight shade into the mix. Aside from that, these palettes are pretty lightweight and aren’t bulky, so they don’t take up much room in a makeup bag. I think these palettes, especially Paris Starlight and Maui Gardens, offer gorgeously fun colours that you can mix and match to create tons of fun looks that are perfect for evening, or if you’re like me, anytime of the day.
