Mary Kay TimeWise Age Minimize 3D Skincare Review

I love anti-aging skincare and will try anything to help my skin look as youthful as possible while also giving it the moisture that it needs. Mary Kay recently launched the TimeWise Age Minimize 3D Skincare set that provides a three dimensional approach to defending against triggers that make your skin look older, delaying visible signs of aging and delivering younger looking skin, which I am always game for.

The skincare collection includes all of the must have products you would need in a skincare routine, which include TimeWise Age Minimize 3D 4-in-1 Cleanser,  Age Minimize 3D Day Cream SPF 30 Broad Spectrum Sunscreen, Age Minimize 3D Night Cream, and Age Minimize 3D Eye Cream. Each of the products features their Age Minimize 3D Complex,  that includes encapsulated resveratrol, vitamin B3 and an age-defying peptide. It also comes in two formulas, one for normal to dry skin and one for combination to oily skin. In as little as 4 weeks, the set will improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, improve resiliency, luminosity, smoothness, softness and your skin’s overall appearance.

My Glittery Thoughts:

I test out a lot of skincare because I love finding things that work. The TimeWise line feels luxurious on the skin, with a soft feminine scent, and the tubes are very travel friendly too. My skin feels really good, definitely more even in tone and more moisturized.  I love the cleanser because it’s got those little exfoliating granules in it so I can get some light exfoliation while I cleanse my skin and it makes it feel soothed, softer and has been helping with making it look more plump, fresh and even. I like that I can use it daily because it’s not a harsh exfoliator. The day cream is thicker in consistency compared to the night cream, most likely because it has SPF in it, but I like that about it because it makes my skin feel more hydrated and fresher. I also don’t have time to put an SPF on after my skincare during the week so I like that this has enough protection for my face so I don’t have to worry about that step.

The eye cream is very light and sinks well into the skin but still keeps that area moisturized and ready for makeup. I’ve also noticed that it dulls the look of my dark circles when I apply it. Last but not least, like the day cream, I really enjoy wearing the night cream. It’s lighter than the day cream but still hydrating and soothing. My skin doesn’t look as parched in the morning as it has been in the past. I have noticed a difference in my skin with using the products. My skin doesn’t look as rough and dull. My fine lines and wrinkles are less visible when I’m wearing the creams. I feel like I have a great base for faking that “just had a facial” look. You can also get the whole set of products for $159 on MaryKay.ca which isn’t a bad deal! If you want to try something new and anti-aging, I would definitely recommend!

My Glittery Thoughts:

The smoky and rosy shades are totally my thing and rosy shades and mauves are always my favourites to wear because they really enhance my eyes. The Lip Suede’s are incredibly pigmented, very gorgeous and extremely comfortable to wear. I like the semi-matte finish because it keeps my lips hydrated. There is a bit of transferring but only a bit, so you won’t have to touch it up a lot unless you’re really going to town on a greasy meal. I like that a ballet pink has made an appearance as an on-trend shade for the fall. It’s always a reliable go-to when I want a soft pink and chipping is not as noticeable with them. The wear time is average and the application is very smooth. Overall, my favourites from the collection are the Lip Suedes because the colours are gorgeous and it’s a perfect, comfortable, moisturizing finish to wear in the fall.

Turning Back Time with Mary Kay TimeWise Vitamin C Activating Squares

Mary Kay, Review
Mary Kay TimeWise Vitamin C Activating Squares

There’s no denying that I’ve put my skin through hell in my 20’s and for the past couple years I’ve been trying to fix that damage. All of us have, at some point in our youth, thought that we were invincible against the sun and that whatever effects that would come with it would only be a concern to us much much further down the road. Boy, were we wrong! I’ve tried a lot of skincare products to help rehabilitate my skin but haven’t used many products with Vitamin C, which is huge for helping skin damage and making it look more youthful again. So, it felt like a sign from the heavens when I received the brand new Mary Kay‘s TimeWise Vitamin C Activating Squares and the complimenting TimeWise Replenishing Serum+C to try out.

Mary Kay TimeWise Vitamin C Activating Squares Mary Kay TimeWise Vitamin C Activating Squares

Totally new to the market and never seen before, the TimeWise Vitamin C Activating Squares ($30 for 12 squares / Available at MaryKay.ca) is a beauty industry first because it supercharges your daily serum with the boosting power of pure Vitamin C in a little square. After the square dissolves when you mix it with your serum, your skin will look more even toned, more radiant, with less fine lines and wrinkles in as little as two weeks of use. Pure Vitamin C loses its power and potency when it’s exposed to air, light or water, but with the technology that Mary Kay has put into these squares, the pure Vitamin C remains stable until you unlock its power with every use. When the square dissolves into the palm of your hand, it transforms into a fresh, potent and pure Vitamin C elixir that gives a power boost to your serum for an anti-aging boost. The Vitamin C in each square stays fresh and powerful every time it’s used. What could be better than that? So how do you apply it? Start by opening up one of the packets and place the square in the palm of your hand and ad 3-4 drops of water and mix until the square dissolves, then add your usual amount of serum to the solution and mix everything together. Then apply the solution to your face and wait until your skin is dry before putting any other skincare products on top. You can use these squares three times a week and since it can’t be mixed with SPF, I prefer to use this at night.

To really give the squares an even bigger boost, I decided to pair it with the TimeWise Replenishing Serum+C, which made this an unstoppable Vitamin C power duo. The TimeWise Replenishing Serum+C ($65 / 44 ml / Available at MaryKay.com) is made of an antioxidant rich formula that has a potent blend of botanical sources that are known for their high levels of Vitamin C. The serum helps boost collagen and helps skin bounce back by making it firmer and more lifted. It comes in an innovative airless pump bottle that keeps air out so it maximizes the power of the product with every application. To use this serum, apply three pumps of the product both in the morning and at night.

My Glittery Thoughts:

So after years of saying to myself “Oh I’m only going to be out in the sun for a few minutes” and “The sun won’t hit me as hard when I’m driving!” (what a crock!), I started to develop deeper freckles and some wrinkles because of squinting in the sun a lot. Being pale and a natural red head, I’m one of the sun’s biggest targets and that didn’t clue in for me until the last couple years. I just thought I could get away with my bad habits and deal with the consequences later. After trying out these products for the past few weeks, I’m dumbfounded that I didn’t take integrating Vitamin C into my skincare routine on a regular basis seriously. I can absolutely see a difference in how my skin looked before using these products and how it looks now. I’ve noticed a bit of peeling along the way but that’s because the Vitamin C has been helping shed that damaged skin and since it’s super charged, I’ve been able to see results a lot more quickly. When you combine these two products together, you know you’re getting the absolute highest concentration of Vitamin C there is. I think it is quite genius to put the pure Vitamin C into squares that dissolve when you mix them with a bit of water and the serum. The only thing I have a tiny issue with is that the serum doesn’t smell the best but when the products do this good of a job, you don’t let smell get in the way. I’ve even used some of it on my shoulders that have seen a lot of damage as well and it has helped out tons. If you’ve let your skin suffer at the hands of the powerful sun, these TimeWise products are absolutely necessary for you to get closer to what your skin looked like before all of that damage showed up all over the place.
