Mary Kay ClearProof Deep-Cleansing Charcoal Mask Review

Every weekend, I love going through my mask collection and picking one out, then settling down with a good book while it does its thing. With it being summer, I often gravitate towards masks that clear out my pores or better yet, a charcoal mask. One pore cleansing mask I’ve been loving is the Mary Kay ClearProof Deep-Cleansing Charcoal Mask.

Mary Kay ClearProof Deep-Cleansing Charcoal Mask Review

The ClearProof Deep-Cleansing Charcoal Mask is a triple action mask that acts like a magnetic to do a deep clean of your pores. It contains active charcoal which can bind up to double its weight to remove pore clogging impurities, mineral clay ingredients kaolin and bentonite, which boost the mask’s absorbency, honeysuckle and navy bean extracts help improve the appearance of skin discoloration, and extracts of rosemary and peppermint give your skin a fresh scent and cooling sensation. The formula is clinically shown to absorb oil in an instant and reduce shine.

Mary Kay ClearProof Deep-Cleansing Charcoal Mask Review

My Glittery Thoughts:

I hate having gunked up pores and when it gets really hot outside, it makes my skin feel disgusting and this charcoal mask works wonders with reviving my skin and making it look fresh and clean. I love the peppermint scent and the fact that it doesn’t completely dry out my skin either. Anyone can use it if you’re looking for something to get rid of black heads and clear our your pores. If your skin is acne-prone or very oily, you can use the mask 2-3 times a week which is great. I really enjoy using charcoal masks in the summer because they always work wonders in clearing out and brightening my skin. The tube makes it easy to multi-mask as well if you’re looking to reap the benefits from several masks at once. If you haven’t tried a charcoal mask before or are looking for a really good one, you need to give this one a try!

Mary Kay Summer 2017 Collection

Mary Kay Summer 2017 Collection

This summer, 90s influenced makeup is still going strong with lots of browns and earthy tones showing up in tons of collections. But, there’s still tons of shimmer to go around! Mary Kay took the summer’s best on trend shades and brought them together for their Summer 2017 collection.

Mary Kay Summer 2017 CollectionThe Limited Edition Summertime Jewel Look is comprised of soft, warm and sultry shades featuring three mineral eye colours in Sweet Cream, Hazelnut and Emerald, a mineral cheek colour in Sunny Spice, an eyeliner in MK Black, and a Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick in Mauve Moment. The set retails for $89 and has a $97 value.

Mary Kay Summer 2017 CollectionFrom R-L: Sweet Cream – pale cream beige, Hazelnut – medium chocolate brown, Emerald – light-medium pear green, Sunny Spice – beige pink

Limited Edition Summertime Jewel Look‘s ($23) come in two shades – Giving Heart, a rosy pink, and Kind Heart, a pale peach that can be used as a highlighter. The purchase of each Baked Cheek Powder benefits the Mary Kay Foundation and its support of women’s shelters and survivors of domestic abuse.

My Glittery Thoughts:

The stand outs for me in this collection are the Beauty That Counts Baked Cheek Powders. They are gorgeous and make my skin glow which is exactly what I want in a summer look. The compact is a cute little set that’s good for travelling and the shades can be popped out and switched with other eyeshadows or blushes. I would’ve liked to see the Emerald shade be a bit brighter and more pigmented since it is pretty light. However, if you’re a fan of neutrals, you will like the addition of the green because it acts like a neutral. The lipstick is a pretty shade of mauvy pink that has a creamy feel that isn’t matte but is very comfortable to wear. If you’re looking for a set of everything you would need to create an modern 90’s look, the Summertime Jewel Look set is a great option. But if you love your shimmers and anything that glows, I would highly recommend the baked cheek powders!

Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Glossy Lip Oils

With the weather going from cold to warm and then back to cold again, I’m always in need of hydration, especially on my lips. I especially like wearing products that have a bit of colour to them so I can tackle both my need for colour and something to treat my dry, chapped lips all at once. The Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection‘s Glossy Lip Oils are a fun hybrid that offer both colourful shine and conditioning moisture.

Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Glossy Lip Oils

The Glossy Lip Oil’s are a new and innovative product for Mary Kay because they provide a comfortable application that’s non-sticky and gives your lips luminous shine. They’re infused with grape seed, avocado, and jojoba oils so they will quench your lips to the max with tons of moisture and they come in three shades.

I ♥ Mary Kay!
Top Row from L-R: Brilliant Violet – pale lilac, Sheer Pink – sheer pale pink
Bottom: Magenta Ray – rosy magenta pink

My Thoughts:

My lips feel really soft and conditioned when wearing these lip oils during and even after they’ve come off. They’re very lightweight, not sticky and feel really comfortable, plus they smell really nice. The applicator lets you squeeze out as much colour as you want and the tube will allow you to get to every last drop of it. The colours hold enough pigment without being too bold, so anyone would feel comfortable wearing them and Sheer Pink has just a hint of colour so that will make extreme colour-phobes happy. I love Brilliant Violet and Magenta Ray for their, obviously, beyond pretty colours, but I also enjoy wearing Sheer Pink as a bedtime treatment. So, all in all, I love this kind of lip treatment because of the colour I get with them and how they turn my lizard lips into soft, smooth, and non-flaky pillows.
