Kat Von D Saint & Sinner EDP Fragrances Review

Kat Von D knows how to deliver when it comes to great makeup and I always get excited about what she’s going to release next. One of her newest releases was for her Saint and Sinner Eau de Parfum fragrances. Influenster offered the opportunity to try the fragrances out complimentary and how could I really resist that?

Kat Von D Saint & Sinner EDP Fragrances Review

Saint and Sinner were actually released a while ago back in 2009 and now they’re back and better than ever. Meet Saint Eau de Parfum ($88 for 5oml / $115 for 100ml / Available now at Sephora), a soft, dreamy and classic floral fragrance that includes top notes of muscat sage and mirabelle plum, medium notes of jasmine, almond flower and lily of the valley and base notes of vanilla, white cedar, peach and musk. It’s influenced by Kat Von D’s softer side and reminds her of what falling in love for the first time feels like.

Where Saint evokes love and romanticism, Sinner Eau de Parfum ($88 for 50ml / $115 for 100ml / Available now at Sephora) is all about edgy confidence. Sinner offers top notes of mandarin, orange blossom and mirabelle plum, middle notes of jasmine, white florals and cinnamon, and base notes of vetiver, patchouli, wood, vanilla and musk. Sinner shares the same floral notes as Saint but with a bolder, spicier flavour.

My Glittery Thoughts:

So am I a Saint or a Sinner? I’m usually more of a fan of spicier scents but Saint takes the cake for me. It’s got a beautiful mix of florals and musky vanilla whereas with Sinner, the patchouli, vetiver and white florals are too strong for my liking. You can’t judge a fragrance by the first sniff because once you spray it on your body, it mixes with your body chemistry and transitions into something else. That’s how I’ve been able to fall for fragrances I wouldn’t normally fall for, however I can’t get Sinner to work for me. If you’re not sure which one you will like best, spray each of them on at different times and wait for them to settle into the skin and make your decision. Saint won me over as soon as I sprayed it into the air and love its warm, romantic aroma on my skin. It is very light so the scent isn’t very powerful, so you might enjoy it more in the fall/winter when you’re not sweating and losing scents on your skin easily. The small bottles are cute although I wish they came with a spray nozzle because it’s a little tricky to dab it on my skin without it spilling everywhere. The full-size bottles are gorgeous, so if you like fancy bottles to display, you won’t be disappointed with Saint and Sinner.

ColourPop x Karrueche Fem Rosa Collection Review

ColourPop x Karrueche Fem Rosa Collection

Not a lot of makeup brand and celeb collaborations really excite me. However, since I didn’t end up buying the ABH Modern Renaissance palette, I felt like I needed to get my hands on something that had those pink and rosy tones. With my love for the show Claws, I had a newfound admiration for Karrueche Tran and add in the fact that the Fem Rosa Collection from ColourPop looked amazeballs, it seemed like a no brainer for me to buy.

ColourPop x Karrueche Fem Rosa Collection is inspired by all things ‘rose’ and includes an eyeshadow palette named “She”, a pressed powder cheek and face palette named “Her” as well as a Fem Rosa lip bundle. When I purchased the Fem Rosa collection, I also received an additional, limited edition Ultra Glossy Lip that was being offered on the release date.

Now, first things first, let’s talk about the eyeshadow palette! She eyeshadow palette is made up of a medley of rosy tones and mauve shades, as well as buttery metallic finishes. This palette is all about romance and will dress up your eyes for a brunch date or seductive night on the town. The palette offers 12 shadows which includesย Ladylike, a metallic soft ivory, Babe, satin light peachy pink, Dainty, metallic pinkish taupe, Chick, a metallic subtle gold, Mademoiselle, a metallic rose gold, Gal, a metallic red with copper duo chrome, Empress, a metallic mid-tone pink plum, Filly, a metallic rusty orange, Dear, a matte warm rose, Missy, a matte deep burgundy, Damsel, a matte smokey violet, Duchess, a matte dusty coral.

Last but not least in this collection is the Fem Rosa lip bundle that comes with one Ultra Glossy Lip and two Ultra Satin Lips, plus the limited edition Ultra Glossy Lip that came with the purchase. The collection includes Contessa, a sheer warm gold gloss with pink and gold glitter, Mrs, a satin deepened coral, and Darling, a satin deep plum. The limited edition Ultra Glossy Lip, Polished, is a metallic dark bronze gloss.

My Glittery Thoughts:

Without a doubt, I’m so happy that I got my hands on the She eyeshadow palette. I love the mix of matte, satin and metallic/shimmery shades. The pigmentation is incredible and the options of different kinds of makeup looks are limitless. After getting this palette, I no longer regret not buying the Modern Renaissance palette because this one does it all for me and is so much cheaper. The eyeshadow palette was definitely the main attraction for me but the bundle price for the complete collection made more sense to buy however the other products are nice but not amazing. Her is a face palette I’ve been using more on my eyes because the colours are way too dark on my skin. The Fem Rosa lip bundle is really pretty and all of the shades look good on me except for the limited edition Polished shade. The colour clashes too much with my pale skin tone compared to the other shades but I’m glad it was free! Mrs is a pretty shade that enhances my freckles and the golden tones in my hair while Darling provides a pretty contrast between its deep plum colour and my paleness. If you have a tanned or darker complexion, you will get tons of use out of all of these products but if you’re pale like me, it might be best to stick with getting the eyeshadow palette. If you do not own a rosy toned palette that is very versatile and extremely fun to wear, you need to buy She!

Mini Make Up For Ever Review: Aqua XL Color Paint Shadow & Aqua XL Ink Liner

When it comes to eyeshadow creams and liquid liners, I like to own every colour they could possibly be made in. They enhance any makeup look and make them look much more pigmented and vibrant. Make Up For Ever is one of the brands that knows how to deliver all of the colours of the rainbow and the quality of the products themselves barely ever disappoint. I just received two new products in shades that I oddly don’t have enough of in my stash from their Aqua XL Color Paint Shadow and Aqua XL Ink Liner collections!

Mini Make Up For Ever Review: Aqua XL Color Paint Shadow & Aqua XL Ink Liner

The new Aqua XL Color Paint Shadow‘s ($31 / 4.8 ml / Available now at Sephora) have 24-hr wear in a waterproof cream shadow formula that’s easy to blend and provides highly pigmented colour. Smudge-proof and crease-resistant, the shadows are enriched with mango butter to give your skin nourishing hydration so that your lids feel comfortable all day long. The collection comes in 20 shades that range from neutrals to bright tones that come in iridescent, matte and lustrous finishes.

The Aqua XL Ink Liner‘s ($30 / 1.7 ml / Available now at Sephora) are 24-hr, waterproof liquid liners that offer very pigmented colour and ultra-fine precision. It’s smudge, transfer and fade-proof with an ultra-fine felt tip and comes in 15 shades that offer matte, lustrous, diamond and metallic finishes.

My Glittery Thoughts:

I feel like these products would’ve been absolutely perfect to wear for Canada Day but aside from that they are just awesome! The cream shadow is very easy to work with and blend out and really makes my red eyeshadows POP! I have struggled to find really pigmented white liquid liners but this one definitely impresses with its bright and very opaque whiteness. I really like cream eyeshadows as eyeshadow bases and making powder shadows pop that much more and now I know that I really need to get my hands on more of these babies. The same goes for the white liner because I’ve been loving using them to define my crease and to do fun things with my winged liner and this packs the punch I’ve been looking for. The longevity of the cream shadow and ink liner are also amazing and I don’t find them to crack or crease like other products have. If you appreciate bold, vibrant colours and enjoy being creative with your makeup or just want cream shadows and liners that are really waterproof, then you have to check out these collections ๐Ÿ™‚
