My Current Shower Routine with Bodycology

When it comes products I like using during my shower routine, they not only have to moisturize and cleanse my skin well, but have to have a good scent to them too. I also like switching up my scents depending on the season but one scent that I love all year round? Good old vanilla! My current shower routine has been recently taken over by a few vanilla scented products from Bodycology and I’m loving it!

My Current Shower Routine with BodycologyBodycology has been around for a while but has fallen a bit under my radar until now. They specialize in offering a wide range of scented bath and body products that are sold at half the price you’d find at a specialty store. Creamy Vanilla is just one of many lovely scents they offer. The Creamy Vanilla collection comes with a fragrance mix of fresh vanilla and creamy florals.

The first step in my shower routine is with the Creamy Vanilla Moisturizing Body Wash ($6.97 / 473 ml / Available at Walmart), which is vitamin and antioxidant enriched. I can use it all over as a body wash or add it to the tub to create a yummy bubble bath. I like that it lathers up really well and makes my skin feel hydrated as I step out of the shower/bath. After patting my skin down with a towel, I use the Moisturizing Body Cream ($6.97 / 227 g / Available at Walmart). It contains a rich butter complex which includes shea, cocoa and jojoba butters, as well as Vitamin E and aloe vera. I apply it pretty much everywhere and its been keeping my skin soft and smooth. I love layering up fragrances to keep the scent lasting longer, so after I’m done with the body cream I spray myself with the Fragrance Mist ($6.97 / 237 ml / Available at Walmart). The mist contains top notes of tahitian vanilla and tiare flower, middle notes of fresh jasmine, cyclamen and heliotrope, and it dries down with a scent of amber, blonde woods, sandalwood, and cashmere musk. This fragrance smells so amazing! I add it to my legs, arms and my neck and chest to keep the vanilla going strong. It’s also a nice mist to have around to freshen up, especially if I’ve gone to the gym or after a long day of running around. This trifecta of vanilla goodness has been doing pretty well for me in my routine. The scent isn’t too strong or too weak either so if you’re a vanilla-scented lover like me, you will love it!

5 Travel-Friendly Makeup & Beauty Products from mark. & Avon

5 Travel-Friendly Makeup & Beauty Products from mark. & Avon

I’m sure a lot of you have your summer vacations planned by now or maybe you’ve got a good idea of where and when you want to go. Whether you’re going for a week long vacation or a long weekend vacation, you need to bring beauty products with you that are both functional and compact so they minimize your luggage load. I recently discovered 5 travel-friendly makeup & beauty products from mark. and Avon that have both of those qualities and will have you organized and looking amazing for your much anticipated trip.

5 Travel-Friendly Makeup & Beauty Products from mark. & AvonHook up your eyes with mark.’s new Eye Contact Hook Up Eyeshadow magnetic palette in Smoke & Mirrors ($18). It comes with nine shades that you can mix and match in a blendable, crease-proof formula. If you love smokier shimmery shades of green, purple and brown, this palette has it but you can also get lighter, day-appropriate eye looks with it too but there’s also a neutral eyeshadow palette available if that’s what you prefer. The palette is very travel friendly because it fits into the palm of your hand and it’s magnetic too so it won’t go anywhere when it’s connected side by side to another Eye Contact palette or mark.’s Cheek Magnet Hook Up Blush.

The Cheek Magnet Hook Up Blush ($18) comes in six sizzling shades that come in a mix of mattes and shimmers that give you a radiant flush that is also buildable. The shade I got to try out is Mauve Forward, a matte mauvy pink that would look good on everyone. It’s neutral enough to compliment a lot of eye looks and perfect for travelling because, like the Eye Contact palette, it fits into the palm of your hand and I like that it’s magnetic as well.

I like bringing lip products with me that do more than just add colour to my lips and the All Butter Now Lip Treat‘s from mark. do exactly that. The lip treat’s help increase your lip moisture by 124% and contain shaea, cocoa and mango seed butters. They come in eight shades that range from sheer to full coverage that all deliver gorgeous colour with a buttery shine. I tried out Bare All which is a semi-sheer beige nude and a colour that will go with pretty much any makeup look because it’s not too light and is more of a natural nude. Being under the sun and in different climates can leave you with nasty, chapped lips and I really like that this does double duty and gives my lips the hydration they need on a regular basis.

5 Travel-Friendly Makeup & Beauty Products from mark. & AvonFrom L-R: Dusk Till Dawn Waterproof Eyeliner in Blackout & Daybreak

When you’re on vacation, you’re bound to have a day (or two) that goes on until the late hours of the night and that’s why having something waterproof with you is essential. The Dusk Till Dawn Waterproof Eyeliner‘s ($10)  from mark. last all day and glide on smoothely and precisely. They come in five shades and provide a velvety finish that’s also smudge-resistant. I got to try out their black and brown pencils called Blackout and Daybreak. They have a very creamy consistency when you first apply them which gives you a quick opportunity to play around with them, but when they dry you’ll need a good waterproof makeup remover and some elbow grease to remove every last bit. This is why bringing at least one waterproof eyeliner with you is a good idea because it will stand up against anything – a swim at the beach, a night of dancing and any and all emotions that come from being on a great trip.

I can’t forget to mention the products you downsize when you go on vacation, like sunscreen, body wash and lotions. Some of the smaller tubes can be really inconvenient and hard to work get product out of. That’s why Avon’s Be Inspired Travel Set ($19.99 / is the perfect kit for your body care and sunscreen needs because it comes with tubes that are squeezable, so you can get every last ounce. The silicone tubes range with the capacity of holding 37 to 59 ml and are the easiest things I’ve used for creams because it isn’t a struggle to make sure you’re not wasting anything. They come with a clear zip up clear case which you can use to transport the tubes or you can use them to, of course, help you bring more makeup with you!

Summer Treats from Hard Candy!

Hard Candy, Review
Summer Treats from Hard Candy!

In the winter, I don’t wear as bright of makeup like I do in the spring and summer. Summer is when you can really experiment with colour and have fun with it. When I recently received a package full of Hard Candy products, they immediately reminded me of summer and I knew the fun was about to begin.

Summer Treats from Hard Candy! These products are not necessarily new, except for one product, but I pretty much get really excited at trying any new – to me – products from Hard Candy. The Shadow-Spheres palette in My Bright Life* ($7 / Available exclusively at Walmart) is made up of 10 shades that provide an illuminating effect and are inspired by camera filtering technology that reflects light so your eyes dazzle and look great in any lighting condition. My Bright Life contains a mix of pearly shadows and a few contain glitter. The ones with glitter perform best when they’re patted onto your eyes where there’s a sticky base to attach to. If you use any kind of fluffy brush, you will get a lot of fall out. Glitter is meant to be shown off (am I right?!), so use your finger or a flat brush to apply. Overall the colours are very pretty and vibrant, and give you tons of options for different looks to create.

The Sheer Envy Prismatic Highlighter ($8 / Available exclusively at Walmart) was actually something I bought at Walmart myself and I thought it was too good not to include in this post. It contains light reflecting pearls that accentuate the high points of your face. It might look like shimmer overload, so you’ll probably enjoy it the most if you love shimmer, but I’m a shimmer girl and I like how it makes me cheeks sparkle. Its got this lilac-blue shift to it that looks really pretty when the light hits it.

Summer Treats from Hard Candy! From L-R: Sheer Envy Prismatic Highlighter & Sheer Envy Pore Minimizing Primer Serum

I tried out a new primer called Sheer Envy Pore Minimizing Primer Serum* ($9 / Available exclusively at Walmart), which contains pore tightening actives and astringents that absorb oil, as well as micro fine powders that blur fine lines and colour corrects your skin tone. Even though my skin is dry, this primer serum doesn’t dry it out any further and I like that it smooths out any big pores. I get a little bit oily in the spring and summer and this has been helping balance that without giving me dry patches.

You guys know I love my brow products and the Brows Now! Fiberized Brow Gel & Highlighter* ($7 / Available exclusively at Walmart) has become one of my essential brow products. It keeps your brows in shape and tamed for all day control, as well as gives them a healthy shine that makes them look nourished. I like setting my eyebrow pencil with a brow gel and this gel has got great colour that helps fill in any spots that I might’ve missed and keeps them in place and looking good all day. Plus, It’s always nice to have an added highlighter to add underneath to make them pop even more!

Summer Treats from Hard Candy! From L-R: Brows Now! Fiberized Brow Gel & Highlighter in Medium/Dark, 1000 Lashes in Indigo Blue

One of the last summer treats I tried out is the 1000 Lashes Mascara in Indigo Blue*($7 / Available exclusively at Walmart). Coloured mascaras are making a big comeback and this fiberized mascara not only adds a beautiful shade of blue to your lashes but also lengthens them and adds volume. I love all of the 1000 Lashes mascaras I’ve tried because they were the first, easily accessible coloured mascara line I could ever get my hands on. They make your lashes look long and luscious, which is a must for me.

I cannot wait until Hard Candy brings out more of their new products to Canada. They’re slowly rolling them out with products like the prismatic highlighter, but there’s a ton more I am dying to try out. They always stay on top of trends and know what their customers want. If you spot a Hard Candy section at Walmart that’s loaded with new products in the GTA area, let me know!
