Take Care of Your Lips with Lypsyl Lip Balms

It’s the middle of March and we’re having a snow storm. It’s not totally unheard of in Canada but it just goes to show that the weather can be unpredictable here. Whether it’s the weather, a promising first date with a hottie, or recovering from a date gone wrong, you can find something that fits your needs with Lypsyl Lip Balms.

Take Care of Your Lips with Lypsyl Lip Balms

You can take care of your lips with Lypsyl Lip Balms because they offer tons of different, fun flavours aside from their Original formula like Cherry and Tropical Oasis, as well as a formula for Sensitive lips and Cold Sore Relief ($8.99 / 8 g). You might be familiar with Lypsyl because they can be found everywhere and yet I haven’t tried them out until now. They are Sweden’s #1 lip balm and are the only balm made with deeply penetrating Swedish Beeswax which offers long lasting moisture your lips can feel. Their natural ingredients include shea butter, elderberry, coconut oil, aloe, chamomile, honey, and vitamins A and E to quickly soothe and hydrate sore and very dry lips.

My Thoughts:

These lip balms are so affordable and convenient to have around at all times. They’re very soothing, nourishing and comfortable to wear. I’ve thrown each flavour/formula into every purse I use so I always have one with me and I have one on my bedside table to put on when I go to bed. I’ve also recently found out how well lipsticks and what not go on after I’ve put on a lip balm as a base and these really help with that part of my makeup application process. I don’t suffer from cold sores but I had a friend try it out who deals with cold sores a lot and they said that the formula was really effective at clearing up cold sores and relieved their soreness and pain, as well as keeping the rest of the lips moisturized and soothed. I really like that even though they’re very affordable, they definitely don’t lack in effectiveness. If you’re in need of an affordable lip balm/treatment, Lypsyl is a great way to go. I’ve even seen Lypsyl in stock at Dollarama, so they are beyond affordable and very accessible to get your hands on.

La Roche-Posay Micellar Water Ultra Review

La Roche-Posay, Review
La Roche-Posay Micellar Water Ultra Review

I cannot live without micellar water. I end up using them more than cleansers, probably because they do so much more than just cleanse your skin. This is why I’m always excited to try out new micellar waters and La Roche-Posay just came out with THREE of them! The La Roche-Posay Micellar Water Ultra collection is very powerful at removing makeup but also very gentle on the skin, especially every type of sensitive skin.

Sensitive skin is prone to being really vulnerable to harsh cleansing. Even something that suits all skin types can leave someone with sensitive skin feeling itchy, prickly, and with a stinging sensation. That’s why La Roche-Posay came out with this collection of micellar waters to cover every individual need for each sensitive skin type. LR-P has come out with a new formula that’s inspired by bi-phase makeup remover technology with their new glyco-micellar technology. The power of micelles combined with ultra-hydrating glycerin come together to give optimal cleansing efficacy with optimal tolerance. This means that you’re getting higher makeup removal with the first coated cotton pad, smoother gliding and less rubbing for easier removal and less contact on sensitive skin, and lasting comfort because it contains up to 5% glycerin, which leaves the skin hydrated and never feeling stripped.

La Roche-Posay Micellar Water Ultra Review

The first Micellar Water Ultra I tested out was the one for Dry to Reactive Skin. It contains 5% glycerin which is the highest percentage in the Micellar Water Ultra range. The Dry/Reactive skin formula is proven to increase hydration by 46.8% in just 30 minutes, and also reduces redness caused by cleansing and the feeling of tightness. The next Miceller Water Ultra I tested was the Oily Skin formula, which goes beyond cleansing and purifies and mattifies your skin to eliminate shine. It’s enriched with the purifying power of zinc and removes impurities and dirt, without drying out the skin. The last one I tried is the Normal to Sensitive Skin formula. This formula works to remove makeup, dirt and impurities while still preserving the skin’s barrier, so it doesn’t feel stripped. It contains a light hypoallergenic fragrance and hydrating glycerin, which leaves your skin feeling refreshed and pleasantly soft all day long.

Price: $19.95 ea. / 400ml / Available now at Mass Drugstores

My Thoughts:

My skin is dry and sometimes gets sensitive to really harsh products, so I knew right from the get go that these products would feel really good on my skin no matter what. All of them are so very soothing and even when I’ve put my skin through hell with different treatments, they make my skin feel brand new again. Even the formula for oily skin doesn’t feel like it’s too mattifying on my dry skin, so I can easily use up that bottle on my own. And on really late nights when all I can manage to do is cleanse my skin, I don’t wake up the next morning with tight, itchy skin because these micellar waters manage to keep my skin feeling hydrated and soothed. They are really handy to have around if you deal with even the slightest bit of sensitivity because they do amazingly well at removing makeup and any dirt and inpurities without much work, and giving your skin that soothed, fresh feeling.

What do you think of the La Roche-Posay Micellar Water Ultra collection? Which Micellar Water Ultra formula would you love to try?!

Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Glossy Lip Oils

Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Glossy Lip Oils

With the weather going from cold to warm and then back to cold again, I’m always in need of hydration, especially on my lips. I especially like wearing products that have a bit of colour to them so I can tackle both my need for colour and something to treat my dry, chapped lips all at once. The Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection‘s Glossy Lip Oils are a fun hybrid that offer both colourful shine and conditioning moisture.

Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Glossy Lip Oils

The Glossy Lip Oil’s are a new and innovative product for Mary Kay because they provide a comfortable application that’s non-sticky and gives your lips luminous shine. They’re infused with grape seed, avocado, and jojoba oils so they will quench your lips to the max with tons of moisture and they come in three shades.

Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Glossy Lip Oils

I ♥ Mary Kay!
Top Row from L-R: Brilliant Violet – pale lilac, Sheer Pink – sheer pale pink
Bottom: Magenta Ray – rosy magenta pink

My Thoughts:

My lips feel really soft and conditioned when wearing these lip oils during and even after they’ve come off. They’re very lightweight, not sticky and feel really comfortable, plus they smell really nice. The applicator lets you squeeze out as much colour as you want and the tube will allow you to get to every last drop of it. The colours hold enough pigment without being too bold, so anyone would feel comfortable wearing them and Sheer Pink has just a hint of colour so that will make extreme colour-phobes happy. I love Brilliant Violet and Magenta Ray for their, obviously, beyond pretty colours, but I also enjoy wearing Sheer Pink as a bedtime treatment. So, all in all, I love this kind of lip treatment because of the colour I get with them and how they turn my lizard lips into soft, smooth, and non-flaky pillows.
