My Summer to Fall Foot Pampering Routine

My Summer to Fall Foot Pampering Routine

This is the first week of fall but it sure doesn’t feel like it outside. Over the past several days, we’ve had temperatures feeling closer to 40 with the humidity. Welp, I guess I’m going to have to wait to pull out my fall wardrobe for a little bit longer. No matter what it feels like outside, I like having a good end-of-season pampering session for the parts of my body that don’t often get pampering, like my feet. Even though fall is a time when sandals and open toed shoes are going to take a back seat to boots and regular close toed shoes, I still like treating my feet to a good summer to fall foot pampering session. Here are some of the products that were part of this year’s pampering routine.

My Summer to Fall Foot Pampering Routine

First things first, I’ve become more and more obsessed with masks of all kinds. Sephora has converted me into a mask collector and one of the kinds of masks that I absolutely LOVE using are foot masks. The 7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques ($5.99 / Available at Farleyco.ca & Rexall Pharmaplus) are like getting your feet pampered at the spa. They are booties that make your feet feel really soft and come treated with shea butter and almond oil, which nourishes dry skin and repairs cracked heels, and peppermint and soybean, which freshen and hydrate the skin making it feel silky soft.

My Summer to Fall Foot Pampering Routine

I’ve done a lot of walking this summer which has resulted in very dry, cracked heels, so to take it a step further in order to make sure my feet are in their best condition, I have been using Flexitol Heel Magic ($14.99 / Available at Farleyco.ca & Shoppers Drug Mart). It’s a new and innovative way to hydrate and nourish dry, cracked heels, which comes in a no-mess stick formula that contains a blend of urea, shea butter, lanolin and olive oil in a highly concentrated moisturizing base.

It’s not always the prettiest thing to see but women get toe hair. I used to shave mine off until I discovered that you can easily just wax it off instead. Andmentics Toe Wax Strips ($14.99 / Available at Farleyco.ca) are safe to use at home and make waxing your little piggies a breeze. They are shaped to work on all toes and expertly removes all hair without irritating your skin.

My Summer to Fall Foot Pampering Routine

Using vanilla scented shower gels and bath foams are an obsession for me which is why I really love the cute mini bottle of I Love Vanilla & Ice Cream Bath & Shower Creme ($9.99 for 500ml / Available at Farleyco.ca & Shoppers Drug Mart). It’s great for travelling, smells like summertime and eating ice cream cones and makes your skin (and feet) smell and feel great. Lastly, you can’t complete a full foot pampering session without a good pedicure. I’m not the greatest at painting my toes, so a toe separator is essential. They keep your toes in place as you apply the nail polish and prevent any movement from happening afterwards so the polish doesn’t get smudged.

Aside from this routine, I make sure to keep my feet moisturized and like slathering them in lotion before I go to bed (and just hoping that I don’t have to wake up in the middle of the night to pee). If you follow a routine like this and have a special evening once a month where you treat your feet and give them the love they deserve, they will look amazing all year round.

My Glittery Thoughts:

The smoky and rosy shades are totally my thing and rosy shades and mauves are always my favourites to wear because they really enhance my eyes. The Lip Suede’s are incredibly pigmented, very gorgeous and extremely comfortable to wear. I like the semi-matte finish because it keeps my lips hydrated. There is a bit of transferring but only a bit, so you won’t have to touch it up a lot unless you’re really going to town on a greasy meal. I like that a ballet pink has made an appearance as an on-trend shade for the fall. It’s always a reliable go-to when I want a soft pink and chipping is not as noticeable with them. The wear time is average and the application is very smooth. Overall, my favourites from the collection are the Lip Suedes because the colours are gorgeous and it’s a perfect, comfortable, moisturizing finish to wear in the fall.

Fall 2017 Makeup Trend Worth Trying: Wine Me Up

Fall 2017 Makeup Trend Worth Trying: Wine Me Up

I’m slowly starting to embrace fall trends as summer starts to quickly come to end. Summer is my favourite time of the year but there’s something about the changing colours in leaves, buying the first hot fall drink of the year (NOT a fan of the PSL), wearing more layers during the day and wrapping myself in my comforter as opposed to tossing it off because it’s just too damn hot for that. I especially love seeing where makeup trends are going every season and what the IT shades will be. One of the fall 2017 makeup trends that I think is very much worth trying is all about the colour wine.

I recently received Avon‘s new A Box, a curated box of themed Avon products, that was filled with products in the divine wine shade. It contained 5 products that included the True Color Lipstick in Vamp, a plum toned wine with a satin finish, Big & Daring Volume Mascara in Black, True Color Pro+ Nail Enamel in Midnight Plum, True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Romantic Mauves, and True Color Glimmersticks Eye Liner Diamonds in Sugar Plum, a sparkly plum.

Fall 2017 Makeup Trend Worth Trying: Wine

The True Color Lipstick in Vamp ($6.99 / 3 g / Available now at Avon.ca) is a plummy wine with a satin finish that’s infused with jojoba oil, vitamin E, collagen and lanolin. True Color Lipsticks keep your lips feeling moisturized and conditioned even after you take it off. The True Color Glimmersticks Eye Liner Diamonds in Sugar Plum ($5.00 / 0.28 g / Available now at Avon.ca) is a plum with rosy purple sparkles that defines eyes with creamy smooth colour and just a bit of sparkle in a retractable pencil.

The True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Romantic Mauves ($12.00 / 5 g / Available now at Avon.ca) is a colour coordinated set of saturated shades that help you get a quick, effortless look that’s complimenting on every skin tone. The shadows are crease proof and true to colour, and the compact features a mirror and dual-ended applicator.

The Big & Daring Volume Mascara ($7.99 / 10 ml / Available now at Avon.ca) comes with 24 hours of dynamite volume that’s clump-free, smudge-free and flake-free. It comes with a curved brush with multi-level patented bristles and a plumping complex in an innovative creme-gel formula. The True Color Pro+ Nail Enamel in Midnight Plum ($4.49 / 12 ml / Available now at Avon.ca) is a deep creme plum that features up to 12 days of lasting power with a high shine finish that resists chipping. The formula also increases the strength of your nails by 80% and is free of formaldehyde, toluene and phthalates.

Fall 2017 Makeup Trend Worth Trying: Wine

Wine plays up hazel eyes very well due to its purple tones which is why wine is always a shade I gravitate towards in the fall and winter. It’s dark but not too dark and colourful without being too bold. I can easily wear this colour to work or to an event. Even though these shades are more plum than wine, I still like how deep and dramatic it is to wear. The eyeshadow quad is such a great neutral mauve palette to wear for work because the colours aren’t that dark but the 4th shade in the compact has a bit of sparkle in it that is still easy to blend and wear during the day or night. I’m not the biggest fan of really full and thick wands but the mascara does apply pretty well and builds pretty thick lashes very quickly. The nail polish is a hit for me because it applies really smooth and opaque with a nice creme finish that really shows off how dark the plum is. If you’re looking to wear trendy colours and fabulous formulas, Avon’s got it going on!
