Colour Correcting & Concealing Made Easy with Make Up For Ever

MUFE, Review

I admit that I don’t do much colour correcting on myself and usually just hope for my foundation and concealer to mask the redness and discoloration I have on my face. Sometimes it does help but in most cases, those areas still shine through. I finally decided to challenge myself to try to do more colour correcting when I received Make Up For Ever’s new Ultra HD Underpainting Color Correction Palette.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Underpainting Color Correction Palette

It’s an all-in-one colour correcting cream palette with curated shades, depending on your skin tone, to give you an even, primed complexion that is long lasting. It contains a signature combination of coated pigments, powders and a blend of emollient oils that provides a second skin, seamless effect. The collection comes in 6 shade options that range from Very Fair (what I’m reviewing here) to Deep and each palette comes with two colour correcting shades and two concealers that give you a medium to full, buildable coverage that has a natural finish.

Price: $53 CAD / Available now at MakeUpForEver.ca & Sephora

The Very Fair palette comes with a light yellow and mauve for colour correcting and I found that the light yellow was more helpful with correcting dark circles and discoloration. I don’t have any sallowness in my skin or brown spots, so I use the mauve if my freckles need to be toned down a bit but it’s not a must use for me. What I wish was in here was a light green for colour correcting my rosacea. I know there is a light green in the Light palette but it looks like it would be a tad too dark on my skin tone, so it would be nice to have a lighter, paler green as an option in this palette.

My Glittery Thoughts:

The concealers are amazing and everything I was hoping they would be. I can use both of them under my eye, although I prefer the lighter shade for brightening, and they blend as easy and as smoothly as they claim to, leaving me with a natural skin-line finish. I prefer applying them with my finger or dabbing it on with a brush and blending it out with a sponge and both ways creates a natural, smooth finish. With the light yellow and concealer over top, my under eyes and the discoloured areas on my face look like I have never ever had to deal with any imperfections because they make my skin look like it was airbrushed to perfection. The consistency of all of the creams are very lightweight, buildable in coverage and creamy. They are long lasting as long as you use a setting powder because they don’t completely dry down and will transfer.

All in all, I’ve found my new favourite concealing palette because the results look so natural and everything melts beautifully into my skin. I would love to see them come out with more colour correcting options so I can swap out the mauve for a pale green but other than that, I’m in love!

Make Up For Ever Artist Color Eyeshadows Review & Swatches

When I think of bold, vibrant eyeshadows, I think of Make Up For Ever. They know how to come out with quality shadows in a range of finishes and colours that always provide stunning results to any makeup look. The new Artist Color Shadows immediately drew me in with the huge range of colours and finishes to choose from as well as their claim of being highly blendable with immediate colour pay off that lasts up to 12 hours.

I had the chance to try out a couple shadows from the collection and I found myself instantly drawn to the blues in the collection. They looked so stunning and vibrant, so I asked to receive ME-230, a metallic peacock blue and D-236, a sea blue shade with a diamond/glittery finish.

My Glittery Thoughts:

Wow, wow, wow! Seeing them in person blows you away much more than online. Especially the diamond finish shadows. I love my glitter, obviously, and D-236 is everything I look for in a glittery eyeshadow. The colour is strong and the sparkle shows throughout and the blendability is amazing and very easy. Even the metallic eyeshadow, ME-230 is vibrant, very smooth to apply and works really well with other shadows. Since they are very vibrant colours, they will dye your eyelids so that is something to consider when buying one of the brighter shades. Overall, if you love colour and playing with fun shadows and finishes that offer smooth, intense colour then you won’t regret getting your hands on the new Artist Color Shadows!

Bean Boozled Makeup Challenge

Hey Glitter Babes!

Can you tell that I love challenges?! πŸ˜‰ Bean boozled was a weird challenge that blew up a couple years ago and was never something I wanted to try out. First, I hate jelly beans and second, I didn’t see the point in eating horrible tasting jelly beans. But since starting back on YouTube I wondered if anyone had done the challenge and incorporated makeup into the fold. So, I thought, why not go for it? My amazing hubby Mike graciously volunteered to be part of it which made things even more exciting!
