My Girl’s Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

If you’re not following me on social media, you probably missed the announcement I made about my pregnancy. It is part of the reason why I haven’t been as active in blogging and doing videos as I had intended to be. It has taken a lot of energy and motivation out of me which took me out of posting reviews, makeup tutorials and pretty pictures but the time off helped me find my love for it again and slowly but surely, I want to get back to a regular posting routine on the blog and social media.

Being pregnant can take a lot of motivation out of you. I don’t doll myself up as much as I’d like to and I know it needs to become a priority. I received a package of girl’s night treats from Farleyco that are perfect for a night of pampering with the girls or if you’re pregnant and have forgotten to put your needs first.

My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

Eco Tools Facial Mask Mates / $10.99 CAD: A girl’s night always starts with a good face mask. I really don’t like getting that mask gunk on my hands, so this Mask Mates set of sponges and a handy brush are the perfect mates for applying a luxurious mask without having to wash your hands a billion times. It comes with a mask applicator brush and 3 mask remover sponges. The brush is made of bamboo and is cruelty-free, plus the bristles are super soft and the flat edge can easily apply anything from creams to gels to clay with even coverage, without the mess. The sponges are reusable and made of plant pulp, which helps to effectively remove masks while also gently exfoliating your skin.

BeautyLash Brow Tint Kit / $19.99 CAD: When you have non-existent brows, you will do pretty much anything to get some that actually show up. I’ve tried dying my brows with hair dye but have never tried brow tinting before. This product also tints your lashes which I’m a bit more hesitant about doing. It’s a quick 2-step process that lasts up to 6 weeks and is smudge and water resistant. One box is reusable for up to 8 applications which is also amazing. The shades come in Light Brown, Medium Brown, Dark Brown and Black. I’m dying my hair soon now that I’m in the second trimester and it’s much safer at this point for me to do it, so I’m very excited to try this kit out!

My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

ModΓ¨le Collagen Lip Treatment (Plump) / $29.99: I don’t have the money to spend on lip injections and wouldn’t do that at this point in time anyways, so lip plumpers are always a fun thing to try out. This one helps restore volume to your lips, reduce the signs of aging and retain moisture. You can use it alone or underneath lipstick and should be applying at least 3 times a day for a minimum of 30 days to see results. When I first put it on, I immediately noticed that my lips were NOT tingling like most plumpers do. This is a very subtle plumper that feels more like a nice lip balm, so if you’re sensitive to that tingly/stinging feeling but want something that helps make your lips look a little more fuller, this is a great option.

My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

7th Heaven Charcoal Mud Face Masque / $1.99 CAD: I love doing a double mask on nights when I really want to pamper myself. I’ll start with a cream mask and then put on one that I can peel off. My skin feels more squeaky clean and refreshed when I do the double mask combo. 7th Heaven masks are a treat because they’re easy to apply and can target certain problem areas and make my skin feel really good afterwards. This 2 in 1 mask contains purifying natural charcoal and exfoliating walnut shell that work as a tag team to help detoxify your skin. The charcoal also helps absorb oil and impurities. I hate having clogged pores and love how effective charcoal is at helping keep them clean.

My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

MesmorEyes #406 Kit for Almond Eye Shapes / $12.99 CAD: Lashes are always something that make me feel prettier. I feel like I can wear lashes with minimal makeup and still feel good about myself. They’re also an essential to any girl’s night when you take your party from the comfort of your home to dinner or somewhere else to let a bit loose with the girls. This kit comes in different styles depending on your eye shape which is very helpful because most lashes come in a one size fits all style. The kit not only comes in a style perfect for almond eyes which works for me, but also those with monolids, round, and hooded eyes. the lashes in these kits are hand picked to suit those eye shapes and are hand knotted and feathered from 100% sterilized human hair, with comfort band technology so even someone who doesn’t wear lashes that often will feel comfortable in them. I love this kit because of the variety of looks I can get out of these lashes, plus they’re very easy to apply and wear.

My Girl's Night.. or Pregnancy Pampering Essentials!

Purple Tree Coconut Miracle Balm / 25 ml / $6.99 CAD: Pregnancy has given me really dry and parched skin, so a good multi-use balm is a must have. This balm uses natural, organic coconut oil which help protect and provide relief from dry, cracked skin on your lips and anywhere else on your body. It’s a multi=use balm that can protect brittle nails and cuticles, tame unruly brows, and when applied to your lashes, can give them a longer more luscious look. It not only comes in yummy coconut but also aloe vera, pomegranate, and shea butter. I love multi-use products because I can use it anywhere to treat my dry skin. Even though the tube is somewhat small, the balm itself is thick and a little goes a long way.

My Christmas 2015 Wishlist

Holiday Gift Guide, Review

My Christmas 2015 WishlistHey Glitter Babes!

My Christmas wish lists have usually been made up of makeup stuff and what not, but since my beauty room is currently over flowing with makeup, I’ve become much more picky when it comes to the beauty items I pick up. I guess it’s a sign that I’m getting older? Well my Christmas 2015 wishlist is a mix of adult gifts and ones that satisfy the child within me. Do you find that you surprise yourself with the things you want for Christmas with every passing year? Well, here’s what I’ve got on my list!

My Christmas 2015 Wishlist

  1. Anastasia Contour Cream Kit: Finally this kit is available at Sephora and even though I have products similar to it, I feel like I still need it to up my contour game!
  2. Band.do Hot Stuff Disco Thermal Mug: I love cute travel mugs and this one just screams me. It looks like a mug a mermaid would use and I’m, obviously, all about mermaids and anything that reminds me of them.
  3. Saje Wellness Aroma Gem: Not only is this a beautiful piece of home decor, and gold, it emits relaxing and beautiful aromas that fill your house that make you never want to leave. Seeing that I’m already loving my Saje Wellness Remedy Bar, this gem is the next thing from Saje that I really want to get soon.
  4. Forever 21 Faux Fur Coat: I have always had a thing for anything in the colour blush, and this coat would be the perfect addition to my winter wardrobe.
  5. Emily Ley Daily Simplified Planner: Committed to writing things down and being more organized, I would love to get this planner for Christmas. Its got everything in it to make my life more “simple” and organized, plus I love the colour!
  6. Etsy Art from Jessica Illustration & Kelley Ann Hughes Designs: The walls in my house are still pretty bare, so I’d love to buy some of the beautiful and feminine art prints I’ve found on Etsy by extremely talented artists.
  7. Mermaid Tail Blanket: Yes, I’m 12 and find something like this so useful and very much needed in my life. I can live out my dreams of being a mermaid while also keeping my legs and feet warm. What could be better?! Nothing, that’s what!
  8. Ring Fluorescent Flash Light: For 2016, I would like to get more mobile with my blog photography and so I really want a Diva Ring Light because it’s more convenient then having to move my soft boxes around which can get annoying.
  9. Colourpop Creme Gel Colours: You had to assume CP would be on this list because of how much my first CP eyeshadow haul turned me into an addict. I use eyeshadow bases all the time for makeup looks and the wide variety of colours that these come in is so great and I know my makeup would really benefit from them and look even better.

Well, I hope Santa knows how good I’ve been this year and treats me to some of these goodies! What’s on your list?!

My Top 8 Summer Wardrobe Pieces

Fashion, Kellys Faves, OOTD

My Top 8 Summer Wardrobe PiecesDo you get that feeling like there’s something missing from your wardrobe? Like you have tons of clothes but nothing to wear? There has always been that feeling inside of me that my wardrobe was lacking something for the longest time until I built a solid foundation of key pieces for each season. This summer has been all about these 8 items that give me endless outfit ideas and now when I go shopping for trendier pieces, I keep these items in mind. Here are my top 8 summer wardrobe pieces!

My Top 8 Summer Wardrobe Pieces

  1. Classic Striped Top / Old Navy Women’s Strappy Back Striped Top: In a style that can be dressed up or down, this is a versatile piece to wear during the summer and everyone needs one in their wardrobe! I’ve got striped shirts in black and navy which is all I need since they go with so many colours. It’s such a classic look that can take me from work to after work drinks without looking too bussinessy or too casual.
  2. Summery Bag / Nine West Helena Tote: One thing I always change every summer is my bag. A brand new bag for summer is like a cherry on a sundae. It just makes sense! During the fall and winter, and even a bit through the spring, I normally carry a black or neutral coloured bag but summer is the time to switch it up with something colourful and fun. The one above is a mix of tan and coral, which is a fabulous combo, so it has a bit of my fall/winter bag personality mixed with summer in a classic shape.
  3. Stylish Hat / Forever 21 Wide-Brim Banded Straw Hat: The skin on your face first shows signs of aging and being out in the sun before any other part of the body, so keep it protected not only with a good SPF sunscreen but with a stylish hat. My hair is normally too frizzy most days to wear it down but when I do, I wear a hat, similar to this one. That way no one takes much notice to the fact that my hair is a puffball since it’s covered by something really cute!
  4. Pretty A-line Skirt / Old Navy Dip-Dye Chiffon Midi Skirt: You can’t go through summer without wearing a skirt or two. I like the classic shape of the midi skirt (like the one above) which is a length that fits just right for work and after hours. I love it because it’s classy and chic, and works on all shapes and sizes. My favourite is one with a nice pop of colour, like the one above, but I’ve also been collecting them in prints and fun styles.
  5. Cute Denim Jacket / Topshop Moto Vintage Western Jacket: I used to have a distaste for denim jackets because they reminded me of when I wore one when I was a teenager and it was always paired with similar dark wash jeans and it made me look like I had on the quintessential Canadian tuxedo. However things have changed since, and I’ve even learned of ways to pair denim together without it looking really silly, and now I can’t imagine a summer without a cute denim jacket in my wardrobe! I’ve learned to love them as much as my many blazers and have found out how versatile they are and essential for everyone to have in their closet.
  6. Fun Maxi Dress / Boohoo Avery Ruffle Neon Feather Maxi Dress: I hate feeling sticky and sweaty in the summer when I’m wearing pants, which is why I was so happy and relieved to find a great maxi dress (similar to the one above) to keep me feeling nice and breezy. I wear it all the time by switching it up by putting on a white button up on top and making it look like a skirt and changing the whole feel of it.
  7. Relaxed Denim Shorts / Gap 1969 Destructed Sexy Boyfriend Denim Shorts: We’ve all been there, struggling to find the perfect pair of denim shorts. They’re either way too tight or too short or both. That’s why once you find that perfect relaxed pair of denim shorts, don’t ever let go! I’ve got a few different washes of the same style of denim shorts because the fit and look works and they’re super comfortable and don’t expose too much skin. I like shorts that have a bit of roominess in them but are still chic, like the ones above from Gap.
  8. Chic Sandals / Rebecca Minkoff Sava Studded Jelly Sandal: In the beginning of summer, we’re all preparing to show more skin so we’re getting our manicures, pedicures and fake tans done. And you wouldn’t want to show off a great pedicure with basic looking sandals, right? Throw a little personality into the mix with a fun pair that pops and enhances a multitude of outfits, like my pick above. I find rose gold hardware on accessories like shoes flatters many colours out there but also offers something different and a little unexpected.
