Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Glossy Lip Oils

With the weather going from cold to warm and then back to cold again, I’m always in need of hydration, especially on my lips. I especially like wearing products that have a bit of colour to them so I can tackle both my need for colour and something to treat my dry, chapped lips all at once. The Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection‘s Glossy Lip Oils are a fun hybrid that offer both colourful shine and conditioning moisture.

Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Glossy Lip Oils

The Glossy Lip Oil’s are a new and innovative product for Mary Kay because they provide a comfortable application that’s non-sticky and gives your lips luminous shine. They’re infused with grape seed, avocado, and jojoba oils so they will quench your lips to the max with tons of moisture and they come in three shades.

Mary Kay Spring 2017 Light, Reinvented Collection: Glossy Lip Oils

I ♥ Mary Kay!
Top Row from L-R: Brilliant Violet – pale lilac, Sheer Pink – sheer pale pink
Bottom: Magenta Ray – rosy magenta pink

My Thoughts:

My lips feel really soft and conditioned when wearing these lip oils during and even after they’ve come off. They’re very lightweight, not sticky and feel really comfortable, plus they smell really nice. The applicator lets you squeeze out as much colour as you want and the tube will allow you to get to every last drop of it. The colours hold enough pigment without being too bold, so anyone would feel comfortable wearing them and Sheer Pink has just a hint of colour so that will make extreme colour-phobes happy. I love Brilliant Violet and Magenta Ray for their, obviously, beyond pretty colours, but I also enjoy wearing Sheer Pink as a bedtime treatment. So, all in all, I love this kind of lip treatment because of the colour I get with them and how they turn my lizard lips into soft, smooth, and non-flaky pillows.

Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy

Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy Review

One of the first products I tried from Too Faced was their Lip Injection gloss. As someone with thin lips, I had to try it as soon as I heard that it helped add volume and a fuller appearance to your lips. Well, their Lip Injection glosses have grown up a little and now offer more colour and pizazz. This new collection is called Lip Injection Glossy!

Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy ReviewMoisture-rich and infused with their best selling Lip Injection formula, Lip Injection Glossy is all about giving your lips luscious volume and a glossy, tinted colour. The lip glosses are also infused with jojoba and avocado oil to help soften and smooth your lips. They come in six colours ranging from nude to an orchid purple.

Price: $29.00 ea. / 0.14 oz / Available now at Too Faced.com & Sephora

Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy ReviewFrom L-R: Babe Alert – light peach nude, Angel Kisses – pale pearl pink, Milkshake – pale beige nude, Like a Boss – light lilac orchid
Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy ReviewTop: Before with bare lips
Bottom: After wearing Angel Kisses

My Thoughts:

Trying out one of these glosses is one thing but wearing four, as well as swatching them was a little irritating to my skin, which is why I couldn’t take pictures of myself wearing each gloss. The skin around my lips started to get redder with each new application and it didn’t look pretty! If you’re sensitive to tingling and itchy sensations on your face, you may not like these glosses. Although it does go away after a while, the tingling and itchiness is a little tough to deal with at first. But in the end, your lips look more defined and a bit fuller and that’s as good as you’re going to get without spending hundreds to get actual injections done. I also noticed the lines around my lips are more filled in (which you can spot in the before and after photos), which is a nice bonus. The only other thing I will mention is that Angel Kisses and Milkshake look very similar to each other when you put them on because they’re both very pale, so if you want a gloss with more colour, I would go with Milkshake. I like that the glosses aren’t sticky and are very comfortable to wear (once the tingling goes away) while feeling moisturizing too.

Essence BB Beauty Balm Lipgloss

Essence Beauty Balm Lipgloss Review

I’ve tried beauty balms up the wazoo for the face but beauty balms for the lips are a new territory for me. The new BB Beauty Balm Lipgloss collection from essence cosmetics is all about pampering your pout and giving it delicious, glossy colour without the stickiness.

Essence Beauty Balm Lipgloss Review

Available in 5 shades that range from a pinky nude to a vibrant red, the BB Beauty Balm Lipglosses are enriched with ingredients like Shea butter and Vitamin E. These ingredients make your lips feel softer, suppler and more hydrated. They have a high-shine, semi-sheer to a medium pigmented finish. I was able to try out 3 out of the five shades. The other two not included in this review are a soft pink called Sweet Dreams and Flirtylicious, a medium raspberry pink.

Essence Beauty Balm Lipgloss Review

From L-R: Keep it Real – nude beige, Shh, Just Kiss Me – nude peachy pink, Heartbreaker – true red

My Thoughts:

These lipglosses are a little heavier on the lips and come in a squeeze tube with a plastic, angled applicator. Unlike what their description says, they do have some stickiness to them, which I don’t mind because I find stickier glosses last longer. There is some slight touching up with Heartbreaker because it tends to slip a little outside of your lip lines. They are very much glosses that you can wear during the day on the weekends and I love wearing the nude shades for work. They keep my lips soft and the dryness and flakes away, which happens a lot at this time of year. If you want glosses that feel moisturizing and offer some fun colours, then the BB Beauty Balm Lipglosses are worth checking out!
